*-clinched playoff spot.

Koko's X-Cats (6-6)312 Paragon571 (9-3) 307
The X-Cats came back from Manning's huge advantage over Roethlisberger using thier running game 103-82. The recievers 24-3. And the defensive game 127- 95 to steal this one late and break Paragon's 9 gam e winning streak.

Epsilon Delta (5-7) 264 Sparxs1126(5-7) 228
Epsilon Delta's Micheal Vick outperformed Sparx's Donovan McNabb 97-85 and LaDanian Thomlinson scored 58 points to Sparx's three backs 19 points to severely damage Sparx's playoff hopes.

NorCal Crushers (8-4) 195 gaelforce126(4-8) 176
The Crushers escaped gaelforce using defense 79- 71, the running backs 19-12 and the recievers 19 - 6.

Dunedain (10-2) 376 boodah25 (6-6) 150
boodah25 is taking thier lives in their own hands starting Drew Bledsoe on the road so Dunedain's Marc Bulger has a distinct advantage.
boodah25 switched up on me and started Drew Henson instead and paid dearly for it as Henson only managed 13 points to Marc Bulger scored 137 points and that was basically it. Dunedain's three backs scored 153 points to boodah25's two backs getting 65 points.

Pelan's Bobcats(8-4) 342ValleyGirls(5-7) 207
The Valleygirls are at a disadvantage leaving a blank spot on the roster thus placing an even bigger onus on Daunte Culpepper having to produce bigger numbers. With Brian Griese, Rudi Johnson and Shaun Alexander on thier side the Bobcats have the opportunity for a blowout.
Griese outscores Culpepper 107-100. The rest is downhill.

NU Cowboys (2-10) 215 ryforstek525 (2-10) 181
AJ Feeley gets the Cowboys up to a 73-0 start and held on for dear life to win their second game in a row.

Cooney Quest(3-9) 253Sigmakittens (4-8) 224
The Quest's defense got 98 points to the kitties 49 points to basically ends the kitties playoff hopes.

Amaizin' Blue (8-4) 353 The Teal Curtain(11-1) 304
The Curtain finally lose and they still win. They clinched the first playoff spot in the league. Amazin' Blue's backs scored 175 points to the Teal Curtain's backs 71 points.

LEAGUGE 1 WEEK XIII ANALYSIS

Koko's X-Cats (6-6)vs. NU Cowboys (2-10)
The Cowboys have been playing much better since the byes have ended but they still are missing a pair of players on thier roster including at running back where the X-Cats make their bread and butter.

Sparxs1126(5-7) vs. The Teal Curtain(11-1)
The Sparxs are still in the playoff hunt. Thus they are quite unhappy to see the league leading Teal Curtain. The Sparxs have been on a downturn ever since Priest Holmes went down and it's not sure when he will be back so once again it's up to Donovan McNabb to save the day.

gaelforce126(4-8) vs. Epsilon Delta (5-7)
Epsilon Delta has crawled back into the playoff race but are living dangerously continuing to live with only one running back(even if it is the great LaDanian Thomlinson). Clinton Portis and JUlius Jones could put an end to Epsilon Delta's playoff hopes.

boodah25 (6-6) vs.NorCal Crushers (8-4)
boodah25 needs to get it together quick to stay in the playoff hunt going with Drew Bledsoe and the Bills D to seek a way back to victory. Th Crushers could have Ahman Green back online and Stephen Jackson could pay big dividens as well and help the Crushers put boodah25 on the ropes.

ValleyGirls(5-7) vs. Dunedain (10-2)
The Valleygirls as usual look to Daunte Culpepper to lead the way but their deiecincies at running back. Thus if McAllister, Pittman and Goings have any kind of major production it's over.

Paragon571 (9-3) vs. Pelan's Bobcats(8-4)
Peyton Manning is the only real advantage Paragon571 has over the Bobcats and Brian Griese is palying well so Tiki Barber needs to come up big today. The Bobcats need Shaun Alexnader to play big this week and Rudi Johnson to break through against the Ravens.

Sigmakittens (4-8) vs.ryforstek525 (2-10)
ryforstek525 may only have Warrick Dunn to produce for them and he may not even outplay Willis McGahee of the kitties and Byron Leftwich should easily outplay the benched Kurt Warner.

Amaizin' Blue (8-4) vs. Cooney Quest(3-9)
The Quest are in trouble because they only have Willaim Green to counter Edgerrin James, Duece McAllister and Reuben Droughns. So unless Brett Farve has one of the gretest games in NFL history they're history.

Re: League II Week XI Analysis

Koko's X-Cats (7-5) vs.Nor Cal Crushers (5-7)
If Ahman Green is back for the X-Cats they will be tough to beat because Green loves running on the Eagles. The Crushers need a big game from Fred Taylor to stay close.

Rhode Island Charge (7-5) vs. Stud Man Clan (4-8)
The Charge are looking for big things from Willis McGahee to stay strong in the playoff hunt. The Clan are looking much stronger than in recent weeks with all hands on deck but they need much more from Kevan Barlow than what they have ben getting.

South Fl Jets (8-4) vs. Philly Cheesesteaks (8-4)
Daunte Culpepper is a big difeerence maker for the Cheesesteaks but Matt Hasselback will perform much better this week. The real difference lies in the running game where Duece McAllister and Domanick Davis have better opportunities for success over Jerome Bettis (who will be seeing less action with the return of Duce Staley) and LaDanian Thomlinson (who will be fighting for yards against Denver).

Dunedain (6-6) vs. JC's Juggernauts (4-8)
The Juggernauts are doing without are doing without a starting quarterback because Quincy Carter is going back to the bench for the Jets and need Curits Martin and Reuben Droughns to way outproduce Clinton Portis and Derrick Blaylock.

Toronto Fumblers (7-5) vs.The Borg (4-8)
The Borg have given up on the season and are now without Marshall Faulk so this one is pretty easy to break down: The Fumblers win.

Hurricanes (2-9-1) vs.The Lightning ( 5-7)
Bulger should be sick for the Lightning. But they also have an advantage over the 'Canes with two productive backs while the 'Canes have the rarely used Chris Perry.

This Space for Rent(4-8) vs. Coco's Monkeys (7-5)
So long as the Monkey have Manning and Dillon producing points they are to be feared by everyone in the league.

Valleygirls (7-5) vs.Cooney Quest (10-2)
The running game is seriously lacking here so if Brett Farve has any kind of big day the Quest should win.

Bonecrushers (6-6) vs. The Shoats (8-3-1)
Jake Delohme could be the difference. Lots of interesting matchups in this game. Tiki Barber and TJ Duckett vs. Warrick Dunn and the returning Amos Zeroue. The recivers matchup is realling interesting with MArvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne vs. Terrell Owens. But with the Jaguars looking to take a page of the Steelers playbook and run more could limit Byron Leftwich's ability to score. Delohme gets to smack around the pathetic Saints defense.

Re: 2004 Season for Fantasy Football, FIRST Robotics league

All right, I need a 66 point night from the Cundiff/Alexander combo in tonight's game to pull out the win. Alexander has done it by himself 4 times this year. Of course, if I had just played Kerry Collins instead of Griese, I would be in a lot better shape, as Collins outscored Manning...

Koko's X-Cats (7-6)328 NU Cowboys (2-11) 248.5
A 126-58 advantage in the running game paved the way for an easy victory for the X-Cats.

Sparxs1126(6-7) 328 The Teal Curtain(11-2) 260
Donovan McNabb exploded for 148 points and put the Teal Curtain in a hole that they never climbed out of. Good thing for them they already clinched a playoff spot.

gaelforce126(5-8) 379 Epsilon Delta (5-8)237
Epsilon Delta has crawled back into the playoff race but are living dangerously continuing to live with only one running back(even if it is the great LaDanian Thomlinson). Clinton Portis and JUlius Jones could put an end to Epsilon Delta's playoff hopes.
Wel unknown to me they were ended long before this contest began but I did call it right with the Portis/Jones pairing crushing LaDainian Thomlinson 168-77.

boodah25 (7-6) 317NorCal Crushers (8-5) 281
Led by the Buffalo Bills suddenly opportunistic defense boodah25's D outscored the Crushers D 129-65 severly damaging the Crushers playoff hopes.

ValleyGirls(6-7) 297 Dunedain (10-3) 245
Daunte Culpepper outscored the injured Marc Bulger 109-14 and the Valleygirls sought means outside of the running game to win such as the defense outsocring Dunedain's D 105 - 64 and winning the recieving game 58-17.

Pelan's Bobcats(9-4) 317 Paragon571 (9-4) 310
While Manning was his usual great self for the suddenly slumping Paragon571 scoring 104 points the runnin game came up short scoring only 64 points to Pelan's Bobcats 112 points.

Sigmakittens (5-8) 207 ryforstek525 (2-11) 135
Byron Leftwich scored 67 points and Jeff Wilkins scored 14 points to outduel thier non-existance opponents and make thing embarrasingly easy for the kitties.

Amaizin' Blue (9-4) 349 Cooney Quest(3-10)146
The Quest are in trouble because they only have Willaim Green to counter Edgerrin James, Duece McAllister and Reuben Droughns. So unless Brett Farve has one of the gretest games in NFL history they're history.
Let's just say it wasn't a banner day for Green Bay Packers football last Sunday and leave it at that.

Week XIII Postgame Analysis

Interestingly enough, nobody else was added to the list of the mathematically eliminated.

Rhode Island Charge (7-5) d. Stud Man Clan (4-8)
62-58
Oh, what a nail biter this one was. So what does Rhode Island do when its usually dominant running game blanks and Drew Brees doesn’t throw? Let the receivers do the dirty work. Horn and Chambers combined for 32. Of course, that offense was nearly equaled by Drew Bledsoe and his 29 by himself (which made me personally happy until I saw that the Clan had him). So we come down to the Monday night and defensive scores. The Charge had a combined 25 (all on Sunday). The Monday night defense of Dallas, who needed 9 to win, only took 5 (a combined 12 for the Clan). So, in a game much closer than it should’ve been, Rhode Island moves closer to a playoff spot.

Nor Cal Crushers (5-7) d. Koko's X-Cats (7-5)
98-74
I knew Nor Cal had a chance to win this one. I never thought it would end up being this impressive. But with five players clearing 14, this one was over before it started. Trent Green threw for 21, Kevin Jones ran for 16, Darrell Jackson caught for 14, Hanson kicked for 16, and Edwards, well, defended for 14. The X-Cats had their high mark in the Tampa Bay DEF and their 25. This was accompanied by Aaron Brooks’s 18. But with nothing else behind Koko and his Cats (which IMO, sounds like a name for a rock band), the Crushers were able to keep their playoff hopes alive.

South Fl Jets (8-4) d. Philly Cheesesteaks (8-4)
92-58
And the flip side of the first game, this one should’ve been much closer than it was. Philly’s generally powerhouse offense only got remotely decent performances from Culpepper’s 10 and Ackers’s 19. The Jets, on the other hand, pulled no punches. Hasselbeck put up a game-high 29. This was followed by Chad Johnson’s 20 and Tomlinson’s 17. With this victory, the South Florida Jets are heading to the playoffs.

JC's Juggernauts (4-8) d. Dunedain (6-6)
64-51
With a playoff spot on the line, winning this game would’ve been a huge boon for Dunedain. Unfortunately, they Dunedained (yeah, I’m back to that joke). Beyond Portis tallying 19 and Stokley nabbing 13, no one else was able to plop up anything good (in fact, Vick scored -6). This provided a huge advantage towards the Juggernauts, who got additional help from Martin’s 19 and Vanderjagt’s 16. When the rest of the offense decided to pitch in, they did so in numbers that were able to offset the absence of a QB, giving JC and his Juggernauts (which IMO, sounds like a heavy metal band) a victory.

Toronto Fumblers (7-5) d. The Borg (4-8)
114-35
And going with a certain theme, this game happened the exact way everyone thought it would: “The Borg have given up on the season and are now without Marshall Faulk so this one is pretty easy to break down: The Fumblers win.” Borg, Brian Westbrook, 26. Phantom Fumblers, lots more. The running game could’ve won this on their own, with a combined 41. Roethlisberger (I’ve said his name so much this season, I can actually spell it) put up 18, and Chicago and Muhammad scored 15 and 14, respectively. Everybody on Toronto scored at least 5, pushing them towards an almost inevitable playoff spot.

Hurricanes (2-9-1) vs. The Lightning (5-7)
76-68
This one actually should’ve gone to The Lightning. The only reason the ‘Canes were able to help themselves out of the basement was McNabb’s 37 and Alexander’s 14. Beyond dual 9s, it was complete donutville (add that to the list of Eddieisms). The Lightning had everyone contribute (except the QB spot, which probably killed them). They were led by Kasay’s 23 and James’s 19. So with two different playing styles represented pretty exceptionally here, the “couple powerhouse players” style defeats the “slow and steady conglomerate” style today.

Coco's Monkeys (7-5) d. This Space for Rent (4-8)
73-66
This was another nail biter, but as Ed put it: “So long as the Monkeys have Manning and Dillon producing points they are to be feared by everyone in the league.” They combined for 31. The defense pitched in too, with 25. Beyond Buffalo’s 29 (and the defensive combination 43), TSfR couldn’t put much up on the board. So Coco and his Monkeys (which IMO, sounds wrong) keep clinging to a playoff spot.

Cooney Quest (10-2) d. Valleygirls (7-5)
77-66
Here's a game which could’ve gone either way. The Girls had their dominant defense put up 33. Cooney was able to counter that with 42. The Quest even had a combined receiving total of 28. All the Girls could do was put up a 15 from the K spot, and watch. This win cements Cooney Quest as the number one seed.

The Shoats (8-3-1) d. Bonecrushers (6-6)
79-66
I have to say, The Shoats’ scoring patterns have made my job easier. That’s tri-11s from Delhomme, Wayne, and Harrison. Defense chipped in 41. Also making my job easy were dual 14s from the Bonecrushers’ Owens and Wilkins. Leftwich added 11, but the difference was (lack of) defense, giving The Shoats their third straight win.

Pre-Week XIV Playoff Analysis

Well, it hasn’t changed much between this week and last week, though determining who gets in is much easier. All of the top 12 can reach the playoffs. That’s currently 9 teams vying for the last 5 spots. Who will make it? Here’s how it is:

  • Note that none of these are assuming fantasy points. More on that later.
  • Cooney, Shoats, and Jets have all clinched a playoff birth. Also of note is that Cooney has clinched the number one seed.
  • Monkeys, Philly, Charge, and Fumblers will be in the playoffs if they win, tie, or either one of the Cats or Girls loses or ties.
  • Cats and Girls will be in if they win and the other loses their game. They could also get in if they win and a couple teams from the 8-5 bracket lose.
  • Crushers, Dunedain, and Bonecrushers need to win, and they need both the Girls and Cats to lose.
  • The eliminated tier remains the same: Juggernauts, Lightning, TSfR, Clan, ‘Canes, and Borg are all headed home.
The above is just basic. But looking at schedules and fantasy scores yields a whole different picture.

  • Fantasy scores are now coming into play. I’ll set my “maximum possible difference attainable in one week” at 100 points, just to be safe.
  • The 8-5 bracket is looking quite safe, even if they lose and both Cats and Girls win. Let’s face it, this week will really only be for deciding who gets what seed among these 4. The Cats have longshots at overtaking the Charge and Fumblers if it comes down to fantasy points. The Girls can’t remotely overtake anybody above them via points. Realistically, the Cats are cool no matter what if they win, and the Girls need to win and have the Cats lose to make the playoffs.
  • In the 6-7 bracket, they need to win no matter what. But then they’ll need both of the 7-6 teams to lose. Finally, they’ll all need higher fantasy points than the 7-6 teams. While all three of the 6-7s have the ability to overtake the Girls in points, realistically, only the Crushers have a shot at surpassing the Cats in points. In fact, I’d be willing to bet money that neither Dunedain nor Bonecrushers will make the playoffs.
  • Speaking of the 6-7s, Dunedain and Crushers face off. Granted, it’s essentially 5 teams fighting for the last spot, but I still find this match interesting. Not as interesting as it was last week, mind you.
  • The Girls take on the Charge. If this game ties or the Charge win, all of the 8-5 teams are *officially* in the playoffs.
  • Cats and Philly go at it this week as well. It’s the same sitch as the Girls/Charge game: game ties or Philly wins, all of the 8-5 teams officially have playoff spots.
  • I’d also like to point out the Quest/Shoats game. We haven’t gotten a game this titanic in proportion since Week XIV last season, in which Philly (#1 at the time) and CB234 (#3) faced off. CB234 got the win, which interestingly enough pushed the Valleygirls (then at #2) into the #1 spot (CB234 took #2, and Philly dropped back to #3). Just a bit of history for you. Nothing that big at stake here this time around, but it should be an interesting game (and possible preview of the Kamen Bowl).
  • We also have the Toilet Bowl taking place this week! Who will inhale audibly more: The Borg or the Hurricanes?
  • Then there’s also the consolation game in the Toilet Tourney between TSfR and The Lightning. Not sure if the point to this one is to win or lose yet…
There you have it: the playoff picture in a nutshell. You’ll notice the key here is fantasy points. Some teams who could feasibly hit eighth based just on record have no chance of making the playoffs due to low fantasy scores. So all in all, we can prettymuch assume that the top 7 are all in, and the Cats, Girls, and Crushers are fighting for the last playoff spot. Would’ve been much easier had I said this to begin with, huh?

Re: LEAGUGE 1 WEEK XIIII ANALYSIS

Last week of the season and still only the suddenly slumping Teal Curtain have clinched a playoff spot with five teams in contention for three playoff spots. It's getting hot....

Koko's X-Cats (7-6)vs. Sigmakittens (5-8)
Both Corey Dillon for the X-Cats and Willis McGahee for the kitties are due for huge games for their respective teams but the X-Cats also have Chris Brown who could gash the KC Chiefs D for chunks of years and Derrick Blaylock who could do the same to the Titans. The kitties have Jesse Chatman who gets an occasional carry and thus fewer chances to make big plays thereofre the kitties need Randy Moss to get healthy.

Sparxs1126(6-7) vs. Amaizin' Blue (9-4)
Amazin' Blue is fighting for their playoff lives and are in good shape with a huge advantage at running back. The Sparx could play spoiler if Donovan McNabb is huge again this week.

gaelforce126(5-8) vs. The Teal Curtain(11-2)
It's a good thing the Teal Curtain had already clinched a playoff spot because they have been getting taken down the last few weeks and with gaelforce126 having Clinton Portis and Julius Jones it is possible to happen agian.

boodah25 (7-6) vs.Epsilon Delta (5-8)
Now this is more like it for Epsilon Delta. boodah25 is missing Kevan Barlow so it's LaDanian Thomlinson vs. Domanic Davis. I think Thomlinson can win that matchup.

ValleyGirls(6-7) vs.NorCal Crushers (8-5)
The Crushers are hanging by a thread and badly need to win and win big. Chad Johnson, Arlen Harris and Ahman Green need to be huge for the Crushers to survive and it would help them if Daunte Culpepper didn't have his usual great game.

Paragon571 (9-4) vs. Dunedain (10-3)
Paragon571 picked a bad time to slump. Now they have to beat a tough Dunedain team to get in or they are good as dead. Manning isn't the problem. He'll get his points but they need Tiki Barber to get started again and Thomas Jones to show up. Emmit Smith might not play so the could hurt them. Dumedain also uses three running back including the very productive Nick Goings but the real sleeper that puts fear into Paragon571 is Terrell Owens who could finish off Paragon571's season.

NU Cowboys (2-11) vs.Pelan's Bobcats(9-4)
Having the Cowboys on their schedule is the best thing for the Bobcat's playoff push. They are missing two players (one is suspended and the other out with an injury) so their three running backs perform up to their expectations they are in.

ryforstek525 (2-11) vs. Cooney Quest(3-10)
If the Packers perform well in Detriot the Quest win easily. There's not much to ryforstek525 so if the Packers play poorly they still may win.

Re: League II Week XI Analysis

Koko's X-Cats (7-6) vs.Philly Cheesesteaks (8-5)
The X-Cats have the slimmest playoff hopes and here comes Daunte Culpepper, Corey Dillon and the Cheesesteaks. Ahman Green need to play huge if the X-Cats have any hope for the playoffs.

Rhode Island Charge (8-5) vs. Valleygirls (7-5)
If Drew Brees and Willis McGahee play up to their abilities the Charge can punch their ticket for the playoffs. The Valleygirls are lacking in the running and passing game but the Ravens D feasting on the inexperienced Eli Manning is their sleeper.

South Fl Jets (9-4) vs. Stud Man Clan (4-9)
The Jets are playing for improved playoff position and a bye. The Clan are helping them by having an injured Kevan Barlow starting.

Dunedain (6-7) vs. Nor Cal Crushers (6-7)
The Crushers have the advantage at quarterback with Trent Green palying at a high level while you never know what you are going to get from Micheal Vick week to week. Dunedain has the advantage at runningback with Derrick Blaylock who gets to run all over a demoralized Titans D and Clinton Portis who is the one thing that could exploit the one weakness the Eagles have. Kevin Jones is running better but he is still and unknown commodity and Fred Taylor is running hard but he is on the back end of his career.

Toronto Fumblers (8-5) vs.JC's Juggernauts (5-8)
The only disadvantage the Juggernauts have to the Fumblers is at quarterback and Testeverde gets shots at the worst defense in the league while the Fumblers Ben Roethlisberger will be in a dogfight with the tough Jets D. Don't be usrprised if the Fumblers fall.

Hurricanes (3-9-1) vs.The Borg (4-9)
The Canes have Donovan McNabb but have only one working running back. The Borg have two good runningback but hteir quarterback is benched (Faulk may be hurt so it doesn't look for the Borg).

This Space for Rent(4-9) vs. The Lightning (4-9)
The Lightning are without Marc Bulger thus need big games from Rudi Johnson and Edgerrin James to win. The Renters need Tom Brady to perform better and to get something from Thomas Jones to win.

Coco's Monkeys (8-5) vs. Bonecrushers (6-7)
The Monkeys are trying to make a final hard push for the playoffs by pummeling the Bonecrushers with Peyton Manning and a motivated Corey Dillon. Terrell Owens and Warrick Dunn are the Bonecrushers only chance.

The Shoats (9-3-1) vs. Cooney Quest (11-2)
A possible championship game preview. The Shoats have a suddenly red hot Jake Delhome and are more solid at running back. Both teams are very strong at wide reciver. The Shoats are also stronger oin defense.

Re: 2004 Season for Fantasy Football, FIRST Robotics league

If I win this week, I'm in the playoffs. Koko has 825 points, and I have 824 right now with Trent Green and Keith Bulluck to go.

Re: 2004 Season for Fantasy Football, FIRST Robotics league

Rhode Island Charge (8-5) d. Valleygirls (7-6)
78-53
The Girls needed a win to have a shot at the playoffs. Unfortunately, they came upon Rhode Island’s second-half hot-streak. “If Drew Brees and Willis McGahee play up to their abilities, the Charge can punch their ticket for the playoffs. The Valleygirls are lacking in the running and passing game but the Ravens D feasting on the inexperienced Eli Manning is their sleeper.” Brees and McGahee had 10 and 17, respectively. While Ed was correct in the Ravens DEF being a sleeper (they took 19), the Girls didn’t have anything else to back that sleeper. So the Charge are able to claim their playoff spot.

Philly Cheesesteaks (8-5) d. Koko's X-Cats (7-6)
77-38
With the Valleygirls losing, all the X-Cats really had to do was hold on for their playoff spot (and a win would outright guarantee it). Only their K and DEF were able to clear 5 (they both took 10) though. This game was probably over before it began anyway, but the Cats’ low scoring left the door open for the Nor Cal Crushers. Not to detract from Philly’s game, because they held up well in their own light. Their combined running score was 32. So Philly officially plopped themselves into the playoffs, but the X-Cats had to wait to see if they were in.

South Fl Jets (9-4) d. Stud Man Clan (4-9)
74-37
What can I say? The Clan never got much this season, and in their closer, they weren’t much different. High point (and I use this term loosely): the receivers combining for 16. The Jets actually showed up to this game, as noted by Hasselbeck’s 19, the RB’s 23, and Chad Johnson’s 10. Eh, this game really didn’t mean much anyway.

Nor Cal Crushers (6-7) d. Dunedain (6-7)
104-70
With both the Valleygirls and X-Cats losing, both these teams had a chance to sneak in on the number eight seed (though only the Crushers had any real chance due to fantasy points). Dunedain would’ve needed 154 points, but the Crushers only needed a more realistic 82 points. Not that it wasn’t going to be easy. But they had help. First, I point out the massive defensive effort put forth, netting 50. I think that helped. Also on the plus side of things was Trent Green’s 16, Kevin Jones’s 13, and Darrell Jackson’s 12. These put the total to 91. 91 is more than 82. And the Nor Cal Crushers sneak into the final playoff spot in what was easily the most exciting event this week.

Toronto Fumblers (8-5) d. JC's Juggernauts (5-8)
57-48
I expected this match to have slightly more zing to it. Both QBs were in the negative. The Juggernauts only managed to plunge into the lower double digits with a WR, K, and DEF. The Phantom Fumblers offense put up slow-but-steady numbers, with both running and receiving totaling 18 each. This was all Toronto really needed, securing their playoff spot.

The Borg (3-10) d. Hurricanes (3-9-1)
51-34
It was an exciting championship game for the Toilet Bowl! Okay, not really. The Borg did manage to clear 50 for the first time since Week III. All that really was though is Todd Heap’s 15 and Kansas City’s 17. Meanwhile, all the ‘Canes had was Shaun Alexander’s 11. The Hurricanes have “won” the Toilet Bowl.

This Space for Rent (4-9) d. The Lightning (4-9)
81-39
Now where were performances like this earlier on in the season for TSfR? The consolation game in the Toilet Bowl tourney was extremely one-sided. And that’s a good thing, what with Tom Brady actually throwing for 17, Clayton’s 13, and the Buffalo DEF raking in 23 points. The Lightning’s closest score was Atlanta’s 18, and since that was the theme of this game, we can easily deduce that TSfR was victorious.

Coco's Monkeys (8-5) d. Bonecrushers (6-7)
65-52
Is it sad an off day for the Monkeys still produces a pretty decent win? Is it also sad that Peyton Manning scored 17 for them, and that is a bad day for him? How about Corey Dillon and his 10? In the second half of the season at least, this is an off day for him as well. So, long story short, the Monkeys had a bad day filled with respectable scores and won. What a strange world we live in… On a side note, the Monkeys are in the playoffs.

The Shoats (9-3-1) d. Cooney Quest (11-2)
89-81
“A possible championship game preview.” Definitely. This game had all the makings of a title game. Rundown: QB battle was pretty even. Running, not so much. T.J. Duckett dominated prettymuch everyone for The Shoats giving them a nice 27. Receiving went the other way as Cooney’s WRs tallied 29. Defense was dead even. It was the slightly better scores in losing a category that put The Shoats over the Quest. And if what Ed said is true, we will have an exciting championship.

League 1 Semi-Finals

Dunedain (11-3) vs. Pelan's Bobcats(10-4)
Quarterbacks
David Carr vs. Brian Griese
The Texans have been slumping in recent weeks and Carr hasn't broken 100 points since week five and the quartback position is the scoring bonanza in this league so that is crucial. Brian Greise has been playing at a high degree and gets to play a very lax Saints defense.
Advantage Pelan's Bobcats

Running backs
Shaun Alexander, Rudi Johnson and TJ Duckett vs. Duece McAllister, Nick Goings and Micheal Pittman
Alexnader is about the only consitant player on the Seahawks but is up against a tough Jets D. Rudi Johnson could even have a tougher weekend against the Bills and TJ Duckett just had knee surgery. Nick Goings has come out of nowhere and has evolved into a solid player. Micheal Pittman could gash the Saints for massive yards and McAllister might be the only Saint who shows up this week.
Advantage Pelan's Bobcats

Joe Horn, Kerry Colbert and Freddie Jones vs. Terrell Owens, Mark Clayton and Antonio Gates
Horn is the leading reciever in the NFL and Colbert may be the best rookie reciver in the league. Freddie Jones is plauged by inconsitant QB play on the Cardinals. Terell Owens is hurting and may or may not play. If Colbert isn't the best rookie reciver in the league then maybe than maybe Clayton is and he's facing a much weaker defense this week. Gates should be insane in Cleveland.
Advantage Pelan's Bobcats

Kickers
Billy Cundiff vs. Nate Kaeding
The COwboys may not even score this week while the CHargers may keep scoring into Monday.
Advantage Pelan's Bobcats

Defense
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Deltha O' Neal, Landon Johnson vs. Seattle Seahawks, Cato June and Will Witherspoon
The Buccaneers defense should get their points against an incompitent Saints team and O'Neal has opportunities to make plays against the Bills because Bledsoe is prone to mistakes and he's a gambler. Johnson will see alot of Willis McGahee. The Seahawks D hasn't been as nearly effective as it was early in the season but they do still get alot of interceptions but Pennington takes care of the ball pretty well. Cato June will be seeing alot of the Ravens running game (it's the Ravens only chance) and Witherspooon will get alot of opportunitues against Vick but he is a tough out.
AdvantageDunedain

Summary Dunedain is up aginst the wall here and needs David Carr to elevate his game because his backs will be hard pressed to make up ground this week. The defense may really be their saving grace.

The Teal Curtain(11-3) vs. Amaizin' Blue (10-4)
Quarterbacks
Drew Brees vs. Trent Green
Brees gets to abuse a Cleveland Browns team that has basically quit while Trent Green is playing a Denver team that is fighting for it's very life.
Advantage The Teal Curtain

Running backs
Curtis Martin and Jamal Lewis vs. Edgerrin James, Reuben Droughns and Brian Westbrook
Who knows how long Lewis and play but Martin is in line for a big game. AMazin' Blue's playoff run has been powered by their three backs and Westbrook might take and early seat but Reuben Droughns will get to run all day on a weak Kansas City defense and James is the leading rusher in the league.
Advantage Amaizin' Blue

Recivers
Marvin Harrison, Rod Smith, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Ken Dilger vs. Eddie Kennison, Derrick Mason and Jason Witten
Here is where the Teal Curtain could close the gap. Harrison is the favorite to catch Manning's record breaking touchdown pass. Smith will be running free all day. T.J. Houshmandzadeh needs to play big if Cincinatti is going to beat Buffalo. Dilger is still in the NFL? Kennison is a playmaker and Mason is one of the league leading recivers. Witten is one of the few big play threats on Dallas.
Advantage The Teal Curtain

Kickers
Sebastian Janikowski vs. Mike Vanderjagt
Jankowski is a very good kicker but Vandegjagt is getting an amazing amount of oppotunity because he has such an awesome offense giving him so many chances.
Advantage Amaizin' Blue

Defense
New Orleans Saints, Ed Reed and London Fletcher vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, Tedy Bruschi and David Thornton
The Saints don't really play much defense so the Teal Curtain is basically hedging their hopes on Ed Reed. The Pittsburgh Steelers D will be all over the hapless rookie Eli Manning. Bruchi is a playmaker and David Thornton will be tackling Ravens running backs all night long.
Advantage Amaizin' Blue

Summary
Amazin' Blue is going to once again depend on their three running backs to power them to victory. The Teal Curtain needs Drew Brees to be huge for them to have any chance.
