Go to Post Ultrasonic sensors will allow you to do fundamentally the same thing that the bump sensors do...so you can slow down and smoothly stop your robot just before it reaches the end wall, instead of running into it at full speed and then figuring out "ohh! there is a wall there!" - dlavery [more]

One of the teams was a no show, and we had to have teams sub in for them during qualification rounds. Teams that did so got no points for it, and had to fit it into a already very tight schedual.

Team 151 filled in at least 4 times. One of their members came up to me, asked how many more slots we needed to fill in, and signed up for every one of them they could. Remember that this ment they played about half again as many matchs as some of the other teams, often with two matchs in a row, with maybe 10 minutes in the pit before going back on again.

I was very impressed that teams were able to keep up with the pace we had to set. I was even more impressed with teams that where willing to play extra matchs just for the fun of it. You all made my job easier and helped us get through 27 qualification rounds. Best of all, we never had one delay because of teams getting on the field late or confusion about who was playing.

Thank you again to all the teams that attended and made my job as easy as it was, team 151 in peticular. I couldn't watch the matchs, but if they we're half as exciting as the pit's, it was one heck of a competiton.
