Yahoo! site listings

In Ypsi I was thinking about ways to get more hits on our site, and our lead engineer, Ken Patton, suggested that I register the site with Yahoo!, so this morning I did. Right now it's in the Education category. I told Yahoo! that it might be a good idea to make an all FIRST category, within the Education one or even inside the Science and Engineering one. If they do, I think it'd be cool for all of us to register our sites in the new category. What do you think? Just a little more recognition for FIRST! I'll let you know if they make the new category. You may want to register your site now to encourage them to make the new category.

Seems to me that FIRST does a decent job making a list of all the teams. Why burden Yahoo! with more sites. If someone is interested in FIRST, they will go to the FIRST homepage, not a team homepage. At least I always go to official home pages, because you never know how good an un-official page is going to be. If someone really wants to go to your site, then they will go thru FIRST.

BTW -- nice homepage

My point was making all of these sites a little more visible to everyone, not just people who are interested in FIRST. I mean, if someone happened who know nothing about FIRST was looking around in Yahoo! and saw our site and others like it, they may be interested and want to visit. I don't know, maybe you're right, but still, it's worth a try!

BTW -- Thanks

Good point, I've asked Infoseek, Alta Vista, Lycos, and Snap.com for the same category as well. I'll let you know where those are when they are available.

Hey! I looked for one but never saw it... You must have looked harder than I did. Thanks!
