couple of questions...

Posted by Rob Gordon at 1/12/2001 1:04 PM EST

Engineer on team #69, H.Y.P.E.R., from Quincy Public Schools and The Gillette Co..

Has anyone confirmed whether or not this year's small balls are the same as last year's balls?

Also, who do we email at FIRST to ask questions about the rules, the railing height is really puzzling me.

Thanks
Rob

They're the exact same balls as last year. As far as who to conatct, the contact list is given in the Administrative section of the manual.

Whoa, somebody needs to just relax here. Why would you really care if they did start a boy band? It's not even like it affects you at all. Just chill and let people have their fun. You'll prolly get plenty of amusement from it.

Hey Rob, never thought I'd see you on here ;o)

The balls are the same eggs we used last year, just black...and as for questions, 'bot related stuff I've been emailing to Eric (ear@usfirst.org)...the field contact is in the beginning of the manual that I don't have in front of me at the moment.... I'll post again later if no one else does ;o)

Lora (aka Redford)

PS... is there a way we could join up this year as "sister teams" or such? ;o) I'm not sure what we could do to help you out, but I speak for all Rambot kind when I say... "We love you!!!" ;o)

I remember from the kickoff someone asked this question, and the answer is YES these are the black balls from last years. There are almost no reason to use different balls. I suspect they are using black balls this year because the suppliers are complaining that FIRST drained their supply of yellow balls and they have tons of black balls sitting somewhere in a warehouse.

Then again, those balls are just plain fun to play with, especially when they are not perfect spheres.

They are the same as the BLACK balls from last year. Did anyone find that the black balls last year were much more flexible than the yellow ones?

Patrick
