Now THERE's a way to treat a friend...

Engineer on team #47, Chief Delphi, from Pontiac Central High School and Delphi Automotive Systems. In Reply to: here... Posted by joe Carlton on 1/22/2001 8:19 PM EST: AutoDesk has been a huge sponsor of FIRST for many years. They are kind enough to offer a license to any team that participates in FIRST. In fairness to them, I urge teams not to hack their code. The cost of more licenses is a lot, but that is the way that the world works. Chief Delphi "gets around" the bottle neck by using prior year's licenses to make most of the models and much of the animation. In this way, we are able to have more than one person working on the animation without resorting to stealing or expensive extra licenses. Maybe I am too much of a boy scout about this software piracy stuff, but then again, maybe it's the right thing to do. You decide. Joe J. |
