Correct!..I think. FIRST outlines a few ways in which you can qualify.

Team 100 is an even numbered team, so they can't register for the 2003 Championship Event on a first come/first served basis.

Team 100 has not been involved in the FIRST program since 1992, so they do not qualify that way. They have never won the Championship Chairman's Award and were not part of the Championship Event Winner's alliance in 2002, so they do not qualify that way.

In 2002, team 100's performance merited them two points towards qualification for 2003's Championship Event. FIRST, however, requires that a minimum of 5 points be earned in 2002 to qualify for the 2003 Championship Event, so team 100 does not qualify that way.

To qualify for the 2003 Championship Event, team 100 has to get one of the following awards during the 2003 season: Regional Event Winner, Regional Chairman’s Award Winner, Driving Tomorrow’s Technology Award, Industrial Design Award, Leadership in Controls Award, or Quality Awards.

If team 100 earns any points during the 2003 season, they count towards qualification for the 2004 season. The points are, in essence, redundant at that point because even numbered teams are offered "first come/first served" that year.

if we were to say win two regionals and gain six points, do these count towards qualifying?
If team 100 wins two regionals in 2003, they will qualify for the 2003 Championship Event (based on current year performance) and the 6 points that are gained from the victories will be used to determine qualification for the 2004 Championship Event.

"Blah, never again!"
