Heh...we should get a long serial cable. Right now, the team uses a flat tether to connect the bot. All the people who know about computers scream when someone steps on it (Myself included...)

Now that more teams and members are active on the boards again and the season is approching, I just wanted to let everyone know that these are still available. 25ft for $12 and 50ft for $18 shipping included. If you are interested click the link in my sig or send me a PM. If you want 6ft ones or other kinds of cables (usb/network/etc.) we can work something out.

Also be sure to take a look at this thread

Thanks

Newark sells these 25FT DB9 M-M serial cable for $8.29, providing that you need a male-to-male cable. If you don't, then get the ones above. (Male = prongs).

You can also order the digi-key parts cheaper while you are at it, providing they are comparable. Of course you still have to use digi-key prices when totalling your $100.

You could just by the cables for $8.29 and change the connectors. As a matter of fact it's not that hard to make the cables from scratch using parts bought at radio shack.

Or you could just buy mine for not even 4 bucks more, and avoid the hassle of buying another conector and housing, heating up the soldering iron, and making 9 solder joints. Also, mine is commercial quality made at a factory, not in my garage. So, by the time you bought the other one and made it to your liking, you would have spent the same amount of money, an hour more time and have a poorer quality cable.

Furthermore, by buying my cables, you'll be supporting team 696. What could be better than that?
