The actual vehicle is 3-wheeled in design, not 2. The rider leans forward and the vehicle flattens itself out and increases speed - it gets to a point where the rider is essentially only a couple of inches off the ground and moving at 60 miles (or kilometers, I forget) an hour. Here's an ASCII:
Upright, stationary:

O 00
At speed:
__
O---====---00
The only thing the guy is pulling from the Segway is the system of leaning to translate into speed.
This would not transform into a Segway, by the way. It's simply a funny-looking, flat-terrained 3-wheeled motorcycle.

Wrong, it can be used in 3 ways
1. Segway like 2 wheel, with the 3rd under the body not touching the ground
2. Like a regular "Croch Rocket" motercylce (with leaning for controle)
3. The one you discribed riding only inches from the ground
