Re: The nostalgia thread or "Do you remember?" or All things old.

Anyone remember the cartoon Captain Planet? That cartoon will probably shape the next generation's energy and enviromental policies.
BTW, I loved playing with my Teddie Ruxpen. He told me stories through a tape player located in his back. His mouth would move and eyes blinked while he told the story. He was one of my best friends.

You're not the only one! I adored it all. I personally loved the green ranger. Hehe, but as for the girl I had to choose Pink. Mainly because she was just awesome. I had the gloves that made sounds when you moved, the pajamas, you name it. I think I have the picture somewhere of me in those...=D Gotta love Christmas when you're 6-7.

My older sister had a Teddie Ruxpen and I used to think it was the coolest thing in the world.
Anyone remember those fruit snacks that were in the shape of airplanes? I used to love those. I can remember in 6th grade my English teacher had an Apple IIE for everyone in our class. But we only used them a few times, and those were only for word processing. I don't think that he had any of the awesome games (number munchers, oregon trail, etc.). I can't believe this is the first time I noticed this thread, it's brought back so many good memories.

Last summer I worked as a computer technician for the school district. On one of my work orders, the elementary school classroom I visited had two Apple IIe's and they were still using them! I said to the teacher "Do you realize these are 20 years old!" She knew, but said they still worked great and the kids still have fun with them. I've still got my IIC+

Re: The nostalgia thread or "Do you remember?" or All things old.

I remember playing a 2-d computer game back in the 5th grade entitled One Must Fall. I still have the game saved on my C drive. It was very fun and very challenging.

Time for me to chime back in about the wonders of the latest spinoff: It's got the original green/white ranger (Tommy). Looking back on the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: okay, it was lame, but lame in the way that you're supposed to like. Stories were terrible, but really, it was all about the fight scenes and megazord battles, and that's what made it. Then first two spinoffs came (and that abysmal second movie) and killed the franchise. But it's gotten better since then (Space is still the single greatest of the franchise when it comes to story lines). They actually have stories and decent writing. I started watching again after 5-6 years with this latest spinoff. There's been a new production company since last season, good actors, CG, and for the most part, stories are good enough that both a kid and an old fan can watch. Alright, adding the original green ranger was a cheap attempt at boosting ratings (though it did work).

And yeah, I actually brought the megazords from this season (gotta love the interchangability). I feel young... wait, that's a good thing.

And I also remember when this thread was new.

I have a disorder where I have to make it known how much I appreciate things, and if I replied to everyone's posts on this topic at once, I would explode, between the Double Dare DOS game and the Duck Hunt (still play it) and the Rocko's Modern Life...and so much more. I would just die.

If Classic Nick were a channel it would be flooded with high-school aged fans like me who miss the shows like Nick Arcade and The Adventures of Pete and Pete (both on Noggin now).

As for me? Well...besides 90% of the stuff people already mentioned... *restrains from comment*

I remember... ... renting Sega genesis games like Sonic Spinball and Bubsy for $2.11 (1.99 plus 6%) at Albertsons.

I would mention hundreds more but I still enjoy them today. I'm staying a kid as long as I can.

Pete and Pete was the best! I was such a fan of Artie..strongest man ..in the WORLD! woohoo!

I remember also watching David the Gnome.
and there was this one show..where in the beginning, this guy would be walking through fields and crawl through a large hollow log and get into this really cool hang out place in the woods. but I don't remember what it was called...anyone know what the heck I'm talking about?

I think I either had one, or just remember it because my little sister has one. Maybe both.

Remember Colorforms?? They were a fake way to make art. The vinyl pieces stuck to a cool background and then you could do it all over again.

Or how about "Wooly Willy", the cardboard base dude with the magnetic shavings for hair, mustach, sideburns, etc.

Ooo boy, shark attack was sweet, with that giant shark that kept going in circles trying to eat your fish.

My favorite was "Hungy Hungry Hippos" heh when my brothers and I would play as young kids we would get so violent with that the game "board" would shake and then it would turn into a Fluck Bros fist fight/wrestling match. ahh the good ol' days
