Western Michigan

Hey all,

I was just wondering if anyone out there could provide an update as to what's happening at the Western Michigan regional. Any tidbits would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Houston-bound Canadian teams!

You might see another one of your fellow teams from up North joining you at the Championship Event.

188 just qualified with their Western Michigan win!

Great job, guys! Hope to see you there!

the finals match was awesome!!!!!

match number 1.

team 245 attcak the stack and 1140 rans beatty with a full reverse-under-the-bar. 71 misses the stacks. 902 is shut down, for whatever reason. Beatty is pushed outside the field. 245 and 1140 then Push 902 up the ramp and control the top for the victory. Huge win, but I can't remember by how much (nearly 100). Second match, blizzard goes forward and hits a human player stack on 4. 288 and 1140 fight near the bar and by the time driver control is regained, it's all over. Blizzard and 1140 reign supreme, and keep opponets off the ramp.

Great Event!

Another fantastic West Michigan FIRST event.

A special congratulations to the T-RAMs. You guys get better every year.

The elimination rounds were once again undoubtedly some of the best of any regional, suspense and surprises abounded.

Congratulations to Tim Gates and all of the other winners, thanks to all the teams who helped us and others, and a special thank you to all of the volunteers who make it happen.

Very Good Regional

I traveled a little over 3 hrs (one way) with a few friends from my team to attend the Western Michigan Regional. I must say it was well worth the time and gas

I'm not sure if it was the most exciting regional (Chicago was pretty fun ), but I had a great time hanging out w/ 128 and watching our alliance partners (245) from Chicago do so well. AND win again!

Just wondering, but what's up with all the ice? I'm on Spring Break and I never thought I would go somewhere that was colder.

Congrats to all the teams that won awards, etc.

We didn't get shut down actually, we lost signal to our radio. The FIRST guy that was there running the system thinks we got a break in our radio wire. You guys might want to consider using a fresh one for the finals!

Anyway, it certainly was an exciting final round. I wish we had the opportunity to see you all in Houston, but we'll have to wait till next year.

Congrats to the winning teams. You guys played very well.

Team 245 would like to congratulate everyone that competed in Grand Rapids. All 45 teams that were there played with heart and determination. The elimination rounds kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. We would like to give a special congrats to our alliance partners, Team 188 and Team 1140. We would also like to congratulate the alliance that we competed against in the finals, Teams 71, 288, and 902. The team spirit you guys showed was great, and your robots played tough.

See everyone in Houston!

I didn't get time to thank them after the final match but I would like to now. Team 188 would like to thank team 74 for their help in the finals. By lending us 2 batteries we were able too help our aliance partnerrs win this regional. A special thanks to team 245 for picking us and team 1140 for their great teamwork. Although running with only 2 wheel drive for the final match we were able to help hold the 129 point (I Believe) lead that was battled for in the first match. I still hold both teams resonsible for the loss of my hair.
Great work by all and a GREAT regional. Thanks again to all.

Thanks all!

Correction Steve, we lost a third chain part way through the final match, giving us one-wheel drive. Thanks go to 1140 and 245 for being awesome and cunning alliance partners; we fought with the best of them, and won!

We will be going to Houston.
