WEEK VI ANALYSIS
Koko's X-Cats (4-1) vs. Coco's Monkeys (1-4)
It's the Kookoo for Coco game (heh. sorry.)! Coco's Monkey's finally got the message and put in players on defense who are actually playing but even the highest scoring defensive studs are not going to make up for the absence of LaDanian Thomlinson combined. Unless Tiki Barber has a carrer day and Paul Edinger kicks 50 50 yard fields and scores a touchdown Coco's Monkeys really are hopelessly outmatched. R.I. Electrons (3-2) vs. Valleygirls (4-1) The fading Electrons are looking for Tommy Maddox to recover from his terrible slump and Priest Holmes to regain his magic touch. The Valleygirls aren't exactly laiden with household names on offense but they get the job done. -To Be Determined- (2-3) vs. Bane (2-3) Bane has disturbing reliance on three teams, the Colts, the Browns and the Dolphins. It's been hit and miss but there is no denying TIm Couch has suddenly been red hot and Marvin Harrison is his usual awesome self. TBD's Ricky Williams though is far superior to Bane's Ricky Williams and is always looked upon for big things. Dunedain (3-1-1) vs. 29 Patriots(1-4) Talk about irony, the Patriots are relying on the sucess or failure of Patriot's quarterback Tom Brady against the Giants. Dunedain also sports pretty good advantages in the passing and running games as well. Cooney's Quest (2-2-1) vs. Pinman (0-5) Is this the week Pinman breaks through. IT isn't looking good with Cooney's Quests Tampa Bay defense angry and hungry going up against an offense taylored made for them to pound; coach Steve Spurrier's pass happy Redskins who also give up alot of sacks. A strong outing from Matt Hasselback and Trung Canidate could make up for that. No Cal Crushers (1-4) vs. CB234 (3-2) If nothing else Travis Henry will be very busy for CB234 (Eric Mould's likely won't play, I saw the guy laying on the turf at the Ralph last weekend crying in agony form his groin injury. He certainly won't be very effective if he plays. The Bills will rely on Henry). McNiar has been very good this year as well. The Crushers need Rich Gannon to regain his MVP form and anything from their dissapointing running backs. Scrawny White Guys (1-4) vs. Philly Cheesesteaks(5-0) The White Guys broke into the win column last week and now face the league leading Cheesesteaks who feature Peyton Manning. The White guys have instnatly been hamstrung by having no one to answer the bell for that matchup (Drew Brees is on a bye) and will need strong games from Shaun Alexander and Stephen Davis (who would also help the White Guys by keeping the ball out of Manning's hands) to make up the difference. Hurricane (3-2) vs. Snowballs (2-3) While Chad Pennington has been upgraded to doubtful for the Bills game, he is likely not playing. Therefore The Hurricanes have a distinct advatage aat quartback with Jeff Garcia. As in the Scrawny White Guys/ Philley Cheesesteaks matchup, the Snowballs will have to rely on good solid production from their two running backs Clinton Portis and Ahman Green to make up the defecit. Your Team Name (4-1) vs. Chesepeak Cruisers (3-2) YTN may not be able to rely on the arm of Drw Bledsoe who may be missing Eric Moulds this week and weill have to instead seek solid games from his backs and recievers to supplant the defieicincy. Jamal Lewis could be killer for the Cruisers today aginst the meek Cardinals D. |

Alright, that was quick. Directly from Yahoo:
Week 5 Tampa Bay - Indianapolis Scoring We apologize for any confusion experienced with the scoring of the Keenan McCardell touchdown on Monday night. The following details the final scoring for this play, which was applied to ALL leagues and cannot be modified within individual Custom Leagues. 1. Keenan McCardell received credit for a return touchdown. Therefore, if your league does not use return touchdowns, the touchdown will not count in your league. ** The Tampa Bay defense does not get credit for a return touchdown. 2. Keenan McCardell received credit for a fumble recovery only in those leagues using the fumble recovery category for individual players. 3. The Tampa Bay defense lost the points associated with a second defensive TD. Teams with the Tampa Bay defense for week 5 received points for only 1 touchdown. I underlined what you need. Tampa originally scored 13 for Cooney. However, they now no longer got credit for the touchdown, bringing it down to 7, just enough to make it a tie. Of course, they do this after I write the scores... Sorry about all this. Lets rewrite this one: Cooney Quest(2-2) vs. Dunedain(3-1) Draw 105-105 It took two defensemen on Monday and the Tampa defense to draw Cooney to a tie. This was a good one all around. Close running and receiving games, and a close defense made the real crowd pleaser another QB battle. Farve outscored Harrington by 13. We got a tie, folks! In my matchup, I am the only one who has someone playing tonight: Peerless Price. I'm down by 9, so I really need him to come through. Of course, had I kept Tommy Maddox in, I'd be up by 1, and I wouldn't have to worry about all this. I guess there's a lesson in all this...

Valleygirls (4-1) d. R.I. Electrons (3-2)
86-78 This all came down to the receiver battle. The Electrons were praying for Peerless Price to pull through on Monday, but he only caught one pass. RI's replacement for Eirc Moulds only scored 3. Meanwhile, the ValleyGirls receivers took 17 points, enough to net a victory. Of couse, had the commisioner left Tommy Maddox in, this would all be a moot point, as the Electrons would've won by 2 (Jay Feidler took in a measly 12, although that did outscore Kyle Boller by 2). Them's the breaks, I guess. Koko's X-Cats (4-1) d. Coco's Monkeys (1-4) 94-34 "It's the Kookoo for Coco game (heh. sorry.)!" That was bad, Ed. "Coco's Monkey's finally got the message and put in players on defense who are actually playing but even the highest scoring defensive studs are not going to make up for the absence of LaDanian Thomlinson combined. Unless Tiki Barber has a carrer day and Paul Edinger kicks 50 50 yard fields and scores a touchdown Coco's Monkeys really are hopelessly outmatched." He is right though. Byes killed the Monkeys, and the Cats had a great game anyway. -To Be Determined- (2-3) d. Bane (2-3) 125-93 Brad Johnson scored 51! That's enough of a review right there. But I'll also include for TBD Derrick Mason's 28, and Keith Brooking's 12. Bane had a great day too, but stumbled when their running backs combined for 0. Sam Madison took 21, but Tim Couch's lack of thereness (another Eddieism) sealed it for TBD. Dunedain (3-1-1) d. 29 Patriots(1-4) 88-54 Defense, defense, defense. If the Patriots had one, they may have had a fighting chance. Dunedain easily took that one with 49, more then half his score. Other than that, nothing too spectacular for either team, as they both were closely matched with low scores everywhere else (except for Dunedain's kicker, who scored 13). Cooney Quest (2-2-1) d. Pinman (0-5) 114-92 Ack! The week Pinman pulls through, his opponent pulls through too. Pinman's defense scored a high 56, but Cooney kept with him at 43. Cooney's receivers had 15, over Pinman's 2. Even in the running, Bret Farve took 38 for the Quest. Meanwhile, Pinman's equal only scored 23. Poor pinman... CB234 (3-2) d. Nor Cal Crushers (1-4) 137-83 Another lack of defense story, Nor Cal's scored only 22. Maybe I shouldn't mention CB's 60, enough to wipe out just about anyone. QB battle was good, with CB's Steve McNair edging out Rich Gannon by 10. Running, receiving, and kicking were all even. Defense was your game, and the Crushers didn't have it. Philly Cheesesteaks(5-0) d. Scrawny White Guys (1-4) 81-66 It looked like the White Guys were going for a winning streak, taking out the undefeated Philly. Then he put up six 0's. Drew Brees's bye also hurt them, letting Peyton Manning gain 30 unanswered. Pretty even the rest of the way, including even kicking and defense (5 of the Guy's 6 non-scorers). But Manning was enough to keep the Cheesesteaks undefeated. Hurricanes (3-2) d. Snowballs (2-3) 82-80 This was primarily played on Monday, with Torry Holt pulling in 27 for the Snowballs. But the Hurricanes almost blew it, with one of the WRs pulling in -2. Luckily, they had two more players playing on Monday scoring 9 for them. I guess Chad Pennington's absence and four others putting up donuts didn't help the Snowballs either. Your Team Name (4-1) d. Chesapeake Cruisers (3-2) 67-59 A dead battle was only made a game by the Cruisers' Baltimore taking 22, and Jeff Wilkins's 11. YTN had the receiver game 21 to 1. They both had an empty slot on defense, and indeed, Chesapeake dominated that category (with a 41). Bledsoe's 20 though was enough to hold together YTN for at least another week. Jake Plummer was unfortunately out for the Cruisers. |

Hmmm I find it very interesting that Kristina and I set up a trade almost a week ago, yet Eddie has still not waived it. In his own words he told me "the reason I haven't waived it yet is because I'm still not sure about it. Usually, I'd do it right away". Apparently this is different that "usually" Interesting that this should happen the week I play Eddie... coincidence? Ill let you decide for yourself.

WEEK VII ANALYSIS
Koko's X-Cats (5-1) vs. Philly Cheesesteaks (6-0)
Game of the day and perhaps the years as the 1 & 2 teams do battle for first place in the FIRST league. FRom the looks of things the CHeesesteaks boast slight advantages in the passing game and a decent advantage in the rushing game. How Aaron Brooks does today will determine the X-Cats fate. If Green Bay's defense can actually show up vs. the Rams will help as well. R.I. Electrons(3-3) vs. No Cal Crushers (1-5) The Electrons are hurting, literally. All of their offensive starters are banged up and some are game time decisions. If they do play they are supeior to what the Crushers have but the Crushers are mostly healthy and if they perform could steal this game away. -To Be Determined- (3-3) vs. Valleygirls (5-1) Before anyone has realized it the Valleygirls have snuck up into second place in the league and get Daunte Culpepper back today. Just in time to take on TBD who sport and dangerous one two punch of Brad Johnson and Ricky Williams and could mean serious trouble for the Valleygirls. Dunedain (4-1-1) vs. Bane(2-4) Dunedains backs are a hurting pair but capable. Bane is missing their stud Marvin Harrison due to a bye and will need help from elsewhere on the team, most likely from the running backs but both Shawn Bbryson and Garrison Hearst will find the going very tough against their opponenets today. Cooney's Quest(3-2-1) vs. 29 Patriots Can Brett Farve overcome his personal Waterloo for the Quest? Can Donovan Mc Nabb regain his form for the Patriots? Is anyone going to provide support in the running game for either team? Most likely the biggest stud today will be the Quests Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense which is rounding into it's usual terrifying self. Scrawny White Guys (1-5) vs. CB234 (4-2) The WHite Guys have players who can cause CB234 no end of trouble particularly their running backs, Shaun Alexander and Stepen Davis but so long as Steve McNair is opperating on a whole different level it may not matter. Hurricnaes (4-2) vs. Coco's Monkeys (1-5) I'm smelling upset here! Everyone is playing this week for the Monkeys and The QB and RB matchups swing the Monkey's way significantly. The use of the shaky Detriot defense is an achilles heel though. The Hurricanes need Garcia to break through against Tampa Bay in the worst way and a dominating peformance from the Dolphins D. Your Team Name (5-1) vs. Snowballs (2-4) While the Snowballs are, as usual, going to go without Chad Pennington, their opponenet is going without any starting running backs at all while they have a pair of studs in Clinton Portis and AHman Green. WHat Bledsoe does today against the Skins determines hoe YTN does today. Chesepeak Cruisers (3-3) vs. Pinman(0-6) Pinman sports a blank intehir running back position along with a recently innefective Trung Canidate. Menawhile the Cruisers have Jamal Lewis going up aginst a Bengals D without the ability to stop the run. It cold be over right there. |
