I am not sure what was the highest stack at the Philly Regional. I heard that T/Rex stacked 6 in a practice round. I spent most of the time in the pits. In our last match we finally made a stack. Grabbed two bins on the fly from the top of the ramp. Picked up a third on the other side of the ramp. Unfortunately we could not unload them, but it was cool to see the robot finally make a stack in competition.

Check us out at nationals. We are a purple and yellow robot with a tubular frame and an interesting crab drive. If we have time we will give you a quick demo in the pits.

At midwest, the highest was an 8 stack. Our team made one with wildstang and it would have remained, but they didn't cut the power early enough to anothe robot that went out of the field, we also kinda missed a block on another robot.

I don't think you'll see any stacks higher than 8... If you do then I gotta see a picture to believe it...

Made by a bot? I think everyone needs to specify whether or not the stacks were made by a bot.

This stack was made by 2 human players.

The funny and yet upsetting part of that was that one of our engineers helped 1055 (the robot that was sitting near the stack the whole time and that got disabled for going out of the field) with their autonomous mode just before the match. If our team had known this we would have set that stack on the other side of the field instead. For those that want to see this it was match 55 of the Midwest regional. Andy our human player was heart broken after seeing that stack fall.

At Great Lakes Team 67 (HOT) attempted with their robot to stack 8, but something went wrong and they lost 2 bins and ended up with a 6 stack which they placed on the field.

The highest stack was 8 at the Sacramento Regional. It was human made and lasted for almost the entire match when the over team realized they were about to lose. It withstood about 6 ramming attacks then collapsed on the 7th.

STACKING

"Who Stacks?"...

"WE STACK!!!"

Though other teams may have stacked higher, Team 461, my team, consistently stacked, probably 10 to 15 times out of the two regionals and nationals that we went to.

We chucked our original design that would have been God. It would be able to stack 6-8 high and could still go under the bar. Instead we chose a humble design that worked a lot more. It usually stacked one on top of two to make it three, and we won a round with baxter at midwest for 250 qps. We stacked of course.

At the competitions, though, i haven't seen too many teams stack. Many, if not most teams have stacking mechanisms, but they don't use them. And though stacking 6 high or 8 high is good, it has to be consistent.

Nationals stack

What about the stack that was made behind the fields at nationals after the divisional finals (if I remember correctly)!?!?!? I was pretty far away, but I think it was Simbot Sally that made a 15 stack !!!!! It was just for fun, but it is a stack, is it not??

If someone has a picture of this, please post it! I have one, somewhere, but not scanned or digital, so I can't show everyone what I am talking about. Sorry.

Kev

I THINK it was Sally who stacked 8 or 9 in competition on the Curie field at the Championships. When I went up to them later in the day and asked how many they had been able to stack when they were practicing I was told that the most they had been able to stack without HP help was ONLY 11. I was in shock... only was the actual word used... The team I was talking to was really great I'm hoping it was indeed Sally, if not then I have no idea except that it was a Canadian team.
