Smile Need help! What kind of gears are we allowed to use??

Sorry to bother you all again... but team 820 is in sort of a desperate situation...

I was just wondering, as regards to gears, do we have to order all our gears from Small Parts Inc?

Can we get them elsewhere? Do the gears we order have be exact replicas of the ones that Small Parts provides? And lastly, are there any other specifications that I should be aware of.

Sorry to ask so many questions.

Thanks.

Additional Hardware List
Sprockets, Gears and Pulleys -- Any size, Any amount, with or without internal bearings

You can buy them from wherever you want to and they don't have to resemble those from Small Parts in any way.

Exclamation Salvage too .....

Nothing says you can't salvage gears from some old gear reducers on old (or even new) motors used in industrial plants. I have a pile of old motors in our maintenance shop and have spent a lot of time reducing them to scrap iron .....
