[edit] Furthermore, what is the WRRF's purpose for being? My ignorance in this area may or not be surprising, but although I have heard about the WRRF, I don't really know what its purpose is. [/edit]
I'm no graphic designer, so I can't tell what one is supposed to think of when viewing the logo, but I can tell you about the WRRF, generally. It might help.

For the past few years, the WRRF has been a FIRST-team-volunteer-run organization for supporting FIRST teams. For the most part, it's been localized to the San Francisco Bay Area, but with so many recent developments, things will be changing a lot in the near future. Geographically, it will be increasing (the thought is from San Louis Obispo to Hawaii to Northern California), and it will be more focused towards educational systems, rather than supporting FIRST teams (make no mistake, though, FIRST is still one of, if not the most prominent "co-operative competitive project-based learning programs", so it will be the focus). It is also an officially incorperated non-profit organization, and will (with any luck) have some real financial backing in the very near future.

The WRRF's main points of interest are still the California Robot Games (CalGames), which will be held in mid-September, this year, and the pre-season workshops. These will, as far as I know, always be part of the WRRF.

So, basically, you're making a corperate logo. As was mentioned in the original message, this logo will be used for official documents and whatnot...

Uh, hope this helps... :/
