Last year when we had an SBPLI demo/mini event only 5 teams showed up, 263, 311, 353, 810 and 870. And then only 4 teams showed up to support SBPLI at the LIFT forum, teams 263, 311, 353, and 871. But I think the main goal in this event is to give the chance to long island teams to get more active in off-season FIRST, not to host a big competitive event for teams from far away to travel to.

Hosting a competition of our own i totally understand what you are saying but the reason we compete in off season events as i perceived them is not to compete with the robot and win it all but to support other teams within FIRST. Our comp is one of our teams major fundraisers and it brings awareness to first and really does present great learning opportunities to the rookies and other students. On Nov 15th we will be bringing 23 Members to Ramp Riot most of which are rookies. I just hope that my team isn't being perceived as a team that competes for the sake of competing.
