Almost every classic sport car I have seen is an automatic. Unless you have some insight, my personal theory is that all the manual transmissions were driven much harder and raced, thus making them less likely canidates for rebuilt/restore. My neighbor has a restored late 60s Mustang with a 427 and a manual transmission. He took me for a ride, and when we hopped on the freeway told me hold on and punched it. That was one of the best feelings ever, leaving my stomach far behind.
