Re: 2004 Motor specs - Part 1

Also, the 2004 Johnson F-P does not appear to be the same as the 2002 Johnson F-P. The part numbers do not match, and it has a 19 instead of 20 tooth gear.

Re: 2004 Motor specs - Part 1

Paul, see if your inside source can confirm whether this link leads to the right part:
http://www.johnsonelectric.com/produ...?ProdID=130--A
It's a Johnson F-P motor, but different than the 2002--in fact, it's specs make it in some respects closer to a 2003 Mabuchi, most notably in the free speed. But it's got much more torque (almost 2x), and more power (about 1.7x), and better efficiency. That's more in keeping with the old Johnson.

The old Johnsons were prone to overheating and failure, though--much more so than the Mabuchis.

Re: 2004 Motor specs - Part 1

Tristan,

The gear at the end really doesn't mean much, because that is put on by F-P; not Johnson Electric. You are probably right about it being different from the 2002 motor. The gentleman at J-E usually gets back to me in about 2 or 3 days so I should have confirmation soon.
