I want massive robots weighing in at over 3 tons that can not only solve complex puzzles and shoot a perfect 3 pointer while moving at 99 miles per hour (hitting that speed in 3 seconds flat) 3 football fields away, to do my homework as well.
Hey, you asked.

This years game was cool. Next year would be better with a lower a possible goal that moves (maybe?)
maybe a version of complex robot soccer wiht a few changes made to make it as intense as this year.

of course the usual twist would be along the lines of that you can move the goals, meaning you can literally have a goalie bot or an all defense team. and of course there could be certain zones that you are allowed to move the goal to. Also, hang bars to score on higher up immovable baskets. kinda like gymnastics practically.

Well, since we nearly killed our selfs figuring out how to pick up #5 soccer balls this year, they better be a big factor next year!

Really... we just about became #5 soccer ball experts, I'd like to see it pay off next year as much as it did this year.

Other then that, I'd like to see the goal(s) stationary next year. Don't get me wrong, I liked this years goals just for their wackyness factor, but I think a change would be nice. Also, how about 1 vs 1 vs 1? Now that sounds like fun. Lot's of fun deplomacy possible there.

the problem with 1v1v1 is that teams will two robots will team up on one robot, thus making the game unfair for that poor poor robot. the winning robot will always be betrayed.
kinda against FIRST's gracious professionalism there.
Though multiple TEAMS, such as a 4 team event... that may be possible. that may be fun.

I donno.. from talking with a few members of my team, we thought it'd be kinda neat if they came up with a senario that was kinda practical. It might be really neat if it could possibly have a use in the real world... and think of it, you might be able to sell of your design afterwards to find the next year... huh, huh??? You know it sounds good! hehe, our Strategy head started on that one

i just want an obstical, either a bridge or a ramp or something

and something that may be less viewer friendly, i think that killed the game this year.

and i desided to not use the shift or caps lock this message.

Well, obviously we have to count out surgery robots, bomb defusing robots, and industry rob-::stops in middle of thoughts::
how bout a game where robots must place blocks or materials in a stack order, in such a way that it cant get knocked down ( bots cna knock eachothers stuff down to a limit.... or some weird rule for that)
certain colors in certain posistions will give you certain amounts of points. its more complicated, useful application
unfourtantly the fun level is 0

I don't agree that this game is all that intense. Of course it is if you are the one in the "driver's chair." If you sit in the stands, unless you have a fairly un-even match, it usually turns into a shoving match which just looks like robots fairly idle. I think last year's game was more intense to watch this this, but 2000's takes the cake for the new millennium (yeah yeah yeah, 2001 was the new one).

Not true. I've seen perfectly even teams, and the winning team winning by but a ball. and not a single shoving match.
keep in mind there were other competitions. perhaps it was only in your regional.

Yes, I know there were multiple regionals. I take that as insulting that you would know I didn't understand this.

I DO know a lot of FIRSTers. I think enough to hear feedback from every single regional. And most of them told me that the majority of matches were pretty boring.

Keep in mind what it is like to not have an extreme understanding of the game. How is someone that wasn't involved with the project much going to understand that it was won by only one ball until the score is shown?

In 2000, you could at least take a close look to see who had more balls in the stationary goals. There was a lot more defense involved and that meant a lot more action. It was a lot more interesting to watch people fit themselves onto a ramp and try and hang off a bar then to see someone try and get a little teather across the field.

Maybe I'm just weird.
