Didn't know he was going to be a last minute scratch.

The Teal Curtain game-thats amazing, keeping there unbeaten streak alive with a one point victory. Clap it up for them, a very clutch win.

Re: 2004 Season for Fantasy Football, FIRST Robotics league

Doing this before the Thanksgiving games.

Nor Cal Crushers (4-6) d. Rhode Island Charge (6-4)
65-49
Rhode Island hasn’t been at full strength in about a month, so you knew their luck had to run out eventually. This battle had two things going for it: the even QB battle (with Nor Cal’s Trent Green scoring 17 compared to R.I.’s Brees putting up 16), and the defense (the Crushers had one led by Jacksonville’s 14, the Charge didn’t). The other categories were very even, so those two previous points are what determined the game.

Koko's X-Cats (5-5) d. The Borg (3-6)
79-28
Saw this massacre coming. The Borg’s only offense literally came from Brian Westbrook and his 17 points. And with not much defense, this one ended quickly. But I kinda have to talk about the X-Cats, because they performed well despite their opponent. Michael Pittman nabbed 18, accompanied by Antonio Gates’s score of 11. But what made this game a blowout was a defensive score of 35 for the Cats, which was led by a Tampa Bay 23. The X-Cat’s pull into the stacked 6-5 bracket vying for the last three playoff spots.

JC's Juggernauts (3-7) d. South Fl Jets (6-3)
63-60
“The Juggernauts go with rookie Eli Manning, thus the Jets have to feel good about their chances with Matt Hasselback on their side.” This is what should’ve happened, but one of the more surprisingly exciting bouts of the week comes down to a last-minute scratch in the Jets’ QB slot. Matt Hasselbeck pulled a quad, and was unable to play. Meanwhile, Eli Manning got his first start for the Juggernauts, and ironically, pulled in exactly 3 points. But I’m over-accentuating this point (no matter how vital it was). This game was pretty darn even. Both had a running back score 15 (Jets won that category by 2 overall). Both had a receiver missing, and had another offensive player score 10 (Juggernauts took combined K/WR by 3). Defense was 23-22 in favor of South Florida. Note the evenness. Which brings us all the way back to where we started: the QBs. An injury is what made this (essentially) do-or-die win for the Juggernauts possible.

Dunedain (4-6) d. The Lightning (4-6)
63-49
Michael Vick actually had a good game this season. He led Dunedain’s offense with 19. The Lightning matched up with Edgerrin James’s 16. Both offenses prettymuch ended there, so we move to defense. This was where the lightning struck The Lightning (is it sad that what I just said made perfect sense?). Dunedain dominated here 32-15. With their fourth win in a row, Dunedain are looking to make a late plunge into the playoff race.

Coco's Monkeys (5-5) d. Toronto Fumblers (6-4)
87-50
You knew the Phantom Fumblers’ winning streak had to end eventually. This was just simply a case of being outplayed. Toronto only had a Mushin Muhammad 17 to be proud of. The Monkeys played their usual game of Manning and Dillon (who combined for 39) with help from Seattle’s 20. Both teams are in the middle of the tight playoff race.

Hurricanes (1-8-1) d. This Space for Rent (3-7)
64-49
You knew the Hurricanes’ losing streak had to end eventually. “Vinny Testeverde could be rendered invisible by the Ravens D…” Once again, TSfR is burdened with a quarterback unable to score positive numbers. It’s too bad that Buffalo’s 25 went wasted for them. But even with that noted, the Hurricanes still played their best game since week one when they scored 100. “The Canes have good players in Donovan McNabb and Shaun Alexander.” Those two combined for 35. With not much else on either side joining the fray, these aforementioned notes are what made this game.

Philly Cheesesteaks (7-3) d. Cooney Quest (9-1)
73-61
You knew Cooney’s complete domination of the league had to end eventually (I’m sensing a pattern here…). The Quest had an underperforming offense this week, with only Holt and Vinatieri putting up dual 10s (and a Terrence McGee 16 in a D spot was their best score). Philly played this game like it has all others: relying on Daunte Culpepper (17), with auxiliary support from Domanick Davis (11) and Eddie Drummond (15). The rest of the offense contributed as well, ending Cooney’s impressive nine-game win streak.

The Shoats (6-3-1) d. Stud Man Clan (4-6)
76-34
“The Clan have an empty space on the roster and a quarterback out. So basically they are dead in the water.” Yeah, let’s go with that. The Shoats had a Delhomme 12, a Reggie Wayne 17, and a pair of 11s from Elam and Harrison. The Clan had, well, nothing.

Valleygirls (6-4) d. Bonecrushers (6-4)
54-31
“Not sure if Byron Leftwich or Amos Zeroue will play for the Bonecrushers, and that is the main thing on the line on what will happen. If they play, how healthy they are and how much they can contribute will have to be asked. If they can't, then it doesn't really matter what else the Bonecrushers have.” Ed has officially made my job easier today. That’s the story of the Bonecrushers this week. Looking at the Valleygirls, the only major threat they had going was the Baltimore DEF with 19. But everybody contributed once again, easily putting them over the Bonecrushers and their absences.
