Well.... I know that if it's a RealPlayer webcast, then you have to have RealPlayer Plus, or whatever the pay version is. AND the webcast has to be encoded such that it will let someone record it. There's option in the encoding program that says "Allow feed to be recorded." So if that's not set, then I don't know what you can do. Also, I haven't a clue if you can record Windows webcasts....

I'm only offering info, I'm afraid. After May 9th, I'll be back home and on a ::shudder:: modem connection.

If you ask nicely, I'm sure my dad and brother could probably hook up the video-capture software and tape it to VHS.

Jessica,
To tape anything on a computer, you either have
thousands of dollars of other hardware, or just use
your video card on your computer. Some, but not all
video cards have composite/S-Video out. To get
your audio, you will need probably an adapter for
your an audio out composite.
But the cable modem is the thing. If you want good
video quality to see Dean Kamen, than you need to
be streaming at 500 kilbits a second minimum. 1
megabyte per second is really good, but usually
very rare to see that.
After that either QuickTime or Real Player will have
the option for full-screen play. However I would
recommend QuickTime, because it is better on
video quality. But whatever player you play it, make
sure that it your streaming from the application, not
from the web browser. Than simply, just activate
that and when it starts, just hit record on your VCR

Oh by the way, if you get this annoying cropping
effect on your TV, than size down your video to
510x385 the "safe area" for regular, non-HDTV,
television.
