Wow! what a year
Posted by Mike Kulibaba.   [PICTURE: SAME | NEW | HELP]
Student on team #88, TJē, from Bridgewater-Raynham Regional and Johnson and Johnson. Posted on 4/10/2000 3:18 PM MST Well another year has gonbe by and I want to say a few things: 1. Delphi had the coolest drive system and a great robot, probably my favorite one. 2. With all the good teams there, my team(88) I don't think really deserved to be picked for the finals. We had a good robot but when teams like 308, 293, 1, 122, don't get picked you know something is wrong. I'll be the first to admit we got picked cause we almost begged team 37(Cordzilla) to pick us. We have know them for about 4 years and have seen them at the Mid Atlantic Regional every year so we are good freinds. And I would like to thank them alot for their confidence and we almost did pull off that quarter-Final match. 3. The Bar teams(or Monkey's as we call them)put on a great defensive show for everyone. I saw team 25 in Jersey and I saw a few others along the way and I always considered team 25 to have the best chance of all the Monkeys. I would also like to congratulate team 25 for not even thinking they were going to go down to Florida and coming back a national Champion 4. I liked how they set up the competition field in Florida. I just think they needs a few more rows of seats on each playing field. But other then that I liked how it was set up 5. Did Anyone know they were giving out a Highest round score. My team ended up winning the award along with 3 other teams. My problem with this award is that the point of this competition wasn't to score a very high round unless you needed it. We won the match 39-14. we only got 42 qualifying points. in the first match of the day I think it was, the score was 32-28 getting the winnning team 84 qualifying points. They got the better score but we got the award because we scored 39 points. Not that I'm complaining cause I'll take the award. 6. The fireworks and lights and video Disney puts on is amazing, how did they get those pictures on the video soo quickly. I was very impressed Disney does such a great job every year. 7. I want to thank every team that partcipated in the First competition for the year 2000. You all did a great job and made this the most memorable year for me and my team. And Team 88 is already planning to be back next year hopefully better then ever. See you all next year Mike Kulibaba Team 88 TJē |
