Midwest Regional Competitors

Posted by Al Skierkiewicz at 03/25/2001 6:04 PM EST

Engineer on team #111, Wildstang, from Wheeling High & Rolling Meadows High and Motorola.

Thanks to all the teams who competed at the Motorola Midwest Regional these last few days. We are reviewing the game tapes and watching all the great teams. It's only when you get to watch from the quiet of your family room do you get to really appreciate all the talent, design and skill of the competitors. I was happy and proud to meet and compete with all of you.

Thanks to all teams that made the finals matches some of the most intense competition I have ever witnessed. A special thanks go out to Beatty/Team Hammond #71, Motorola/Gear Grinders #112, NASA/Rolls Royce/Cyber Blue #234, and Oconomowoc OHS FIRST #269, you made us look good. I know you will be awesome in Florida. I hope you all got home OK and a great reception from the hometown folks, you deserved it.
To all the rookie teams, you are the most advanced and dedicated bunch I have ever seen. Good luck in the future.
See you all In Florida,
Al
P.S. In case you had not heard, there was significant coverage of the event in all the newspapers and nightly news here in the Chicago area. Congratulations!
