Blocking Field of View
Understanding that your robot could be an 84" x 36" wall. Couldn't you almost entirely block the field of view for the single player station nearest to the human player?
Or by sliding back and forth really disrupt the drivers positioned next to each other? |

In other words, it's not worth it. Great way to get on every team's do not pick list for the eliminations, great way to rack up no-shows at matches and/or red cards... you get the picture. |

I think taking a shot from somewhere where you may limit the field of view is perfectly legal. |

Re: Blocking Field of View
Well, if you happen to be shooting from right next to the alley, and someone came in to collect balls, you'd probably be getting a few [G28] penalties, wouldn't you?
Here's the reasoning: you're blocking vision. Now, that's one that the opposing teams could complain to the ref about... or, if you're shooting from right next to their alley, it's a great time to come in and reload and happen to swing a little wide to mess up your shot--while being in contact with the alley. 3 points for them, you miss the shot, then they hit you again on the way out. Could this happen? Yes, quite possibly. Would they get a [G45]? Probably not, if they're making a legitimate play. Then the opponents complain to the ref that you're blocking vision... and see above for the penalties that can happen. The shooting location placement would be legal, albeit risky. |

Re: Blocking Field of View
It would be an effective strategy IF:
--It doesn't look like it was intended to block the view --The refs don't see this thread |

Re: Blocking Field of View
See this thread, nothing. It's if the refs don't know the rules that it might be effective--and if the refs don't know the rules, EVERYBODY hears about it!

Re: Blocking Field of View
You could, theoretically. It's not very gracious, and all you would be doing is blocking your own team's shots.
