Animation Rules?

Are there any rules about the anim competition?
I feel I must be missing something, because it seems too easy. (No sarcasm intended) Are there any vets with advice?

Hats off to you if you have met the following criteria:

1) you have seen the tape of last year's entries
2) you know enough about 3D Studio Max to realize the complexity involved in making these videos from last year
3) you still think that the task is too easy.

I will leave it to others to answer your specific questions. But I will say that the phrase 'too easy' doesn't often come into my mind in the context of the animation competition.

Go to

http://www.usfirst.org/2000comp/Awards/Autodesk/
forms.html

and download Official Entry form for the 2000 Autodesk
Award for Excellence in Design Visualization. This
holds the entry form, rules, and judging standards.
Like Joe Johnson said 3D Studio Max is a very complex,
but it is a easy program to learn. Last year was my
first year on my teams animation team and I did the
whole animation when the head animator could not show
up because he had surgery. While our animation was not
submitted because of video equipment problems, I
enjoyed the project and plan on participating this
year. Even if your animation is not submitted like
ours last year you get a lot of experience and it will
help in future years. Good luck!
