Bridge damage
Teams. Be aware of the bridge. Make sure you protect any sensitive items such as electronics and easily damaged items. The bridge sticks up approx 12 inches above the floor when in the balanced position and even higher with a robot on one side. It will act like a guillotine to any robot that backs or drives into it.

Re: Bridge damage
Circuit breakers do not respond well when your robot slams it into the bridge at full speed.

I think you'll see some appendage decapitations in heated matches. Between that and the potential damage the barrier can do, it will be interesting to see who holds up. Something tells me the little box of parts the field staff collects over the competition might be a bit more full this year.
And a good way to go with your electronics board and sensitive pieces is use little short piece of surgical tubing or other rubber like materials to create a vibration isolation layer. |
