Does anybody have a reliableway to mate a wheelchair wheel to the Fisher price motors that would be willing to contribute it to a rookie team??

I really hope you're not using those as your sole source for motive power. Last year we did and we were slow (which is really not a good idea this year), we grinded the gears (until we replaced them with metal ones), and even then we burned out a motor per match (the magic smoke has to stay IN for those things to work.)
Anyways, to engage those things with the wheels we put a disc of lexan over one side of the wheel and then had hex heads protruding that would engage with that big, black plastic disc that came with the FP motors. There were no problems with this system; I wish I could say the same for the motors though.
They're great motors, we just used them for the wrong purposes.
G'Luck, :-Dan

We would never (okay, probably never) use those toys as drive motors, but when we used them last year for other applications we made a disc that fit inside the white plastic hub and then flange mounted the disc to our shaft end.

We have a CAd model for the disc. I will dig it up and figure out how to get it on to sharingfirst if you want.

Ken
