772: Going undefeated is such a rush. Congratulations!
234: Eh, we expected as much.
3259: Great job showing off how well a 3k+ team number can do.

I'm curious why 3259 was allowed to compete with those bumpers, though.

Thanks So much! We couldn't/cant believe we went undefeated! Its still setting in that we FINALLY won a regional! And not just won but were the #1 Team.

There were a lot of teams that weren't told to change their bumpers (for anything)

Re: pic: Smoky Mountains Regional Winning Alliance

772 and 3259, we had a blast working with you both. This alliance had to be one of the most well-rounded alliances I've ever been a part of (just the fact that we won 2 of our 6 elim matches without all 3 robots working is enough proof).

772 -Thank you for the selection, even knowing we had field connection issues earlier in the weekend. You guys have a stellar robot and it is driven just as well. Also, congrats on being undefeated!

3259 -I am still amazed that you guys fell all the way down to the second round last pick. I felt that you all surely would have been drafted sooner, especially given the 10 points you pretty much guarantee in hybrid and the balancing help you provide for the endgame.

Great weekend and I'm glad we were able to help you both to your first regional victories!

Best of luck to you both during the rest of your seasons, and we'll see you guys in St. Louis!

Re: pic: Smoky Mountains Regional Winning Alliance

I'm still blown away by that final match; when I saw 234 stop moving, I assumed we be going to a rubber match. I told our driver to dump the bridge anyway, in case cyberblue came back online. When 772 tipped the bridge toward us, and told us to jump on, we were a bit surprised. Our bot wasn't meant to be on the bridge, but due to some awesome driving by 772 and our driver, it somehow worked out. I'm still not sure how, though.

I'm not sure why they allowed those bumpers either. We brought additional fabric to cover up the extra numbers, but the inspectors passed them before we could fix them.

I'm extremely proud of this team. Out of all the teams I've mentored over the past nine years, it's the smallest, but I've never seen a team more motivated than this. I have to chase them out of the work room at night, and they're waiting for me the next morning. I knew we built a competive machine, but after a frustrating thursday, and a dissapointing friday, I was starting to lose hope the team made some mods friday night, and the changed everything. I'm glad that 772 and 234 were watching saturday morning. We've worked hard the past three years, but this season, the stars really aligned. I'm extremely proud of 3259, extremely grateful for our stellar alliance partners, and pumped for St. Louis.
