Championships Final Day

IMHO, the game will change during Eliminations.

There will be more defense and starvation. Will they increase the number of referees to call hoarding penalties?

Teams that can grab the coop bridge balls and score are a must.
Teams that can grab their alliance bridge balls and score will win.

Triple balancing will be the order of the day in each divisions finals, so the basket score will be the thing that makes a difference.

Alliance selection will be crazy with more teams placing above their abilities due to the coop scores.
Scouting is everything this year.

Thoughts?

Re: Championships Final Day

So as things get closer to Alliance Selection, it's definitely getting interesting. If I'm not mistaken, all but the winners of Galileo have been decided.

On Archimedes:

Wave [2826] if I'm not mistaken are a long bot, so I'd imagine they'd pick 67. I would imagine 67 accepts, unless they fancy building a strong alliance from 4th or 5th seed.

If they ask 2056 first, I'd be surprised if they accepted, unless they had absolute confidence of a triple balance with two longbots. Instead, I think they will pick 1218, although there are some other great candidates [195,973].

2648 might end up scorching the rest of the alliance captains [195,781,245,973] or they might go straight to 1114 and hope their comms problems don't continue.

I think Archimedes' selection is obviously quite interesting, but what's equally interesting is what's going to happen on Newton. Who will 548 end up with? 1717 could say yes, but Newton have some great sleeper picks. 118 will have to say yes now that they are 12th after a DQ.

On Curie, I expect it to be 341/987 and 233/1986. I hope it's 341/1986, but I don't think it will happen.

On Galileo, 33 have to choose between 180 and 148. I think they will go SPAM personally.

EDIT:

2056 picked 1114? Should've seen that coming, but still can't really believe they did it. Maybe they have a secret triple weapon, or they think they can outscore every [quite possible].

I'm done with predictions. It's too hard.
