M.A.R.C. 2012 Updates/Charity

This year MARC's charity is Providing for Paws and the Monroe Humane Society. Everyone that is coming please help us support these fine organizations by bringing pet food, blankets, collars, leashes, and consumables. All money earned through the silent auction will go directly to these organizations so please bring items for the auction.

Below is the list of awards that will be given out at this years event:

MARC 2012 AWARDS:
MARC 2012 Champions (4)
MARC 2012 Finalists (4)
MARC 2012 “Mentor of the Year” (1) by judges
MARC 2012 “Volunteer of the Year” (1) decided by MARC Planner
MARC 2012 "M.A.R.C. @ MARC" by judges (1)
MARC 2012 “Most Balanced” (1) each Team gets 1 vote
MARC 2012 “Gracious Professionalism” (1) each team gets 1 entry; judges decide

M.A.R.C. 2012 “Mentor of the Year”, decided by judges
Judges will walk around the pits and talk to students about what mentor on their team should be the mentor of the year. Mentors are not eligible for this award if they have ever won the Woodie Flowers Award (WFA) on any level or ever won the MARC Mentor of the Year.

M.A.R.C. 2012 “Volunteer of the Year”, decided by MARC Planner
This award is given to a member of the FIRST community for all their volunteer efforts. The winner of this award can be a mentor/parent/or volunteer (not committed to a team but to FIRST).

M.A.R.C. 2012 "M.A.R.C. (Most Amazing Robot Competing at MARC) @ MARC", decided by judges
This award is judge by a robot’s ability on the field of play. Criteria for the award will be consistency in the following areas; Best Auton-- scoring, bridge tipping for more game pieces, more scoring either from bridge tip or from partner feed, etc. Fastest (or efficient) score or robust scoring from many places. Best Balancer: Number of Co-op's, single, double or triple on Team Bridge.

M.A.R.C. 2012 “Most Balanced” each Team gets 1 vote, judges will choose winner in-case of a tie.
Each team will receive a nomination slip to choose a team that they feel is the best balancer robot in the field of play. A team is not allowed to pick themselves for this award.

MARC 2012 “Gracious Professionalism” each team gets 1 entry; judges decide
Each team will receive a nomination slip to choose a team, with a write-up, that they feel has best demonstrated the ideas of “Gracious Professionalism”. A team is not allowed to pick themselves for this award. Based on the submissions, the judges will decide on the winning team.
