Human Player Scoring
Posted by Adam Krajewski.
Student on team #68, Truck Town Terror, from Walled Lake Central High School and General Motors Truck Group. Posted on 3/26/2000 10:27 PM MST I'd like to know how the human players have been scoring in ACTUAL competion play... To brag, our human player went five for five in the elimination round in Chicago. ![]() (Three for three in one match, two for two in the next) And I believe, Bomb Squad's human player went two for two with black balls... As for an overall percentage, I don't know, but I'd like to hear if anyone has figured it out for any team. |

In one round he got 6 balls in the goals. Four were in ours, and then he shot two into our opponent's goal to boost our score. Jason |

And not only did they have a good Human Palyer they have a pretty good robot too. I'd say the average is about 1/4 to about 1/3 that they score a ball. Kuli Team 88 TJē |

But one thing that I haven't seen him do is, throw a ball in the opponets goal for points in the qualifying rounds! |

I was our team backup driver and backup human player. Through a twisted series of events, I ended up the main driver, but I remember all the practice I had as the backup human player. We had a goal constructed of PVC pipes. The human player and I made almost every shot. It was very easy. However, the goals at the competition are a lot more rigid, and there is a lot of wires and lights and stuff obstructing our view. It seems as if human player scoring is not something to be relied upon heavily. I found that it is effective having the human player shoot all the yellow balls, but bounce the black ball right to an ally machine, just to be safe. |
