Name Game
Posted by Michael Martus.   [PICTURE: SAME | NEW | HELP]
Coach on team #47, Chief Delphi, from Pontiac Central H.S. and Delphi Automotives Systems. Posted on 7/30/2000 7:32 PM MST Do you think FIRST missed the boat last year with the name of the game. It did not hit the media well. I do not think it was well marketed and was not 'cute' enough to be popular. It was listed on only a few publications. I miss the 'Toriod Terror', 'Ramp & Roll', 'Hexagon Havoc' and the like. What do you think? |

They like something catchy, and well, this year seemed more like an insider's joke...only those in the Competition really understood. Lora |

I mentioned 'Co-Opertition FIRST' in a research paper that I wrote and my teacher subtracted two points, assuming that it was a spelling error. :-) Amy |

Alliterations for all!

Posted on 7/31/2000 9:31 AM MST In Reply to: Name Game posted by Michael Martus on 7/30/2000 7:32 PM MST: I liked the games that either rhymed or had the same letters beginnning both words. I don't know, but without one this year, something was missing. Oh well- can't change the past, can only hope for better in the future. -Erin |

And all for Alliterations

I have to say Alliteration is the way to go... I rarely ever told people the name when I was explaining the game because I knew it wouldn't make sense without a lenghty explanation... the name ought to be like a good joke in that it needs no explanation. you see the game, you see the name... |

I didnt't really care for the name this year. The past names have given insight to what is going on. Yes Co-Operation imples that someone is working together, but doing what? We suggested 'Hang 'em High.' It sounds a lot more interesting than co-operation. |
