Window Motor

I am trying to import models for the left and right window motors (PN N-D-RH-MTR-01 and N-D-LH-MTR-01).
I opened all the files I found at http://www.firstcadlibrary.com/pages/motors.asp , but they all have many surface errors. I am running Solidworks 2012. Does anyone have a working solidworks file format? Or can someone with a native file of the art re-export it and send it to me, to see if that will work?

Thanks!
~Casey

Re: Window Motor

If all else fails, a program like netfabb (free trial) probably can heal the mesh.

Re: Window Motor

I believe we used the window motor (step file) from the Autodesk KOP link on the First website, and imported to Solidworks.

Re: Window Motor

With the STEP file having surfaces that you can sketch on why exactly would you want an editable solid feature tree? I only ask because I think you might be chasing your tail unless you are changing a part that already exists. If you are augmenting with accessories or adapters the STEP is all you need. I made a bracket and a hub for the window motor in Solidworks and have posted them on the Autodesk360 site in .STL format if you're interested.
window motor mount bracket - http://a360.co/Xg8oGL
window motor drive hub - http://a360.co/Xg8spU
If I can help in any way let me know!

Post Re: Window Motor

Yes, I know where the files are posted, and they have surface errors, no matter where I have found them.

"With the STEP file having surfaces that you can sketch on why exactly would you want an editable solid feature tree?" Who said it needed to be editable? Surfaces come up missing all together.

Anyways I switched to an older motor (Keyang 16627960 and 16627961). I can only find those in .ipt, and they must be an older version because Solidworks wont import it. I found the files here, but I cannot use it. Could someone with inventor convert it to a step or parasolid or some generic format I can import into solidworks?

Thanks!
