How many teams from a school?

What do other teams think about having two teams from the same high school?

Specifically two sponsors, not necessarily to the same level of funding, but drawing from the same student base?

I think that is perfectly fine, especially if it allows more students to participate and appreciate FIRST.. go for it!

Although, so I would think, lack of equal funding and the like could create issues that you don't want to see happen.. for example, take a team such as #47.. Delphi takes care of their students well.. you can afford to send all your participating students to multiple regionals and the national competition.. among the teams to be considered 'well-funded'... if your school were to have 2 teams to allow more student involvement, which group of kids would be so lucky to have delphi as a sponsor.. and which group would, in some respect..'get the shaft' and have to go out searching for a new sponsor and possibly not have the same chances as the other kids...

basically, I think for 2 teams from one school to exist, to some extent you would have to work together in that and decision was made prior as to how student would be chosen or placed on each of the various teams.. you could have it like JV and Varsity sports, but based strictly on grade (Jr and Sr are Varsity.. So. and Fr. are JV.. some sophomores have potential to move up.. ALL rookies, unless senior, go to JV their first year..)... i think then you would be ok.. but if one team is going to get less from the other... in order to prevent 'spoiling' of the FIRST program.. you would need a direct guideline approve by the leaders of both teams as to who would go where prior to the start of anything...
