Should we go to Kick-off?

I'm torn. On the one hand, I'm cheap so $150 - $200 for shipping is money that UPS doesn't deserve. On the other hand, it's a 10 hour drive.

So my question is, 'Is there any advantage to attending the CDI Kick-OFF instead of having the material delivered via UPS?'

Is a sample field setup for people to inspect like at the FIRST kick-off?

Are sample robots from previous years on display to get some ideas?

Thanks in advance.

There is no actual 'Kick Off' as such. On the 16th of Oct. Kits will be available for pick-up 12 noon to 6pm.

No party, no lights, just good conversation as you get the kit handed to you.

As for samples from last year. The best we can do is give you a Video of the competition last year. You can use the robots to get ideas.

Remember, we are changing the game. Some elements are the same but you will find the tasks different so the robots will need to be different.

Worked on the game tonight, it will be exciting. It is again a vision of a possible future with many innovations.

Sounds great! If there are any other teams from IL, I'd be willing to drive to Pontiac and pickup the kits. Should save a few hundred in shipping.

Hey teams from afar. This is a chance to save some cash.

We would rather not ship as it will save you cash.

Contact the team that started this thread. Just let us know what you want us to do.
