maximum camera usage
I have a query on cameras that can be mounted on the robot. Our team is thinking of using the Kinect to tell distance to the goals to send a message to the frc drivers station in order to judge proper distance away. I also tossed around the idea that in addition to that function to also include the camera to judge if the robot is centered with the goal. That would be entirely a Kinect function, the team would use the axis network camera to judge how many frisbees are in the loading system. My question is that is there a limit to how many that can be used on the robot and still be legal?

Re: maximum camera usage
The only rule limit directly affecting cameras is that you can only use 7mbits/s of bandwidth to communicate with your robot. (R59)
You can see the amount of bandwidth you are using from your driver station. Last edited by Johnbot : 13-02-2013 at 18:02. |

Re: maximum camera usage
I believe that this would be allowed but aren't there simpler options than another camera? I think that during Kick-off, something was said about prioritized bandwidth limits and image processing being lower on the prioritized list.
Just check all of your options! |
