Re: 120lbs. club
11 years of doing this and we shipped an underweight robot once but it was up to 119.9 by the end of championship.
Twice we were under significantly only because we removed major items at our first regional when we gave up on them. |

Re: 120lbs. club
I would worry more about the tanks falling out when you climb!

Re: 120lbs. club
Last time I checked we were in the 140 pound club...
And running out of places to drill lightening holes! Who knew tiny robots could be so heavy? |

Re: 120lbs. club
We're going to have our first weighing tomorrow. I'm guessing we might even be below 100!

Re: 120lbs. club
We weighed in at 81lbs last night. There were a few small things missing, so we'll likely be up to 90lbs by the end. The c.g. is imbalanced, so we'll probably add another 10 for that. Hanging for 10 rather than climbing for 30, at least at the moment; opportunity may present itself later if the team can pull everything together with vision first.
(Funny thing about being the only CAD guy this year since the 2 students fell off... I know how we *can* climb for 30 and it's outright elegant; yet putting the team to the task would distract them from perfecting what we have so far which is far from championship-grade ... heavy sigh ... I'll present it as an afterthought I suppose) Last edited by JesseK : 15-02-2013 at 08:34. |

Re: 120lbs. club
Our team right now does not have enough to even worry about weighing. For us it is going to be balancing out our robot.

Re: 120lbs. club
We were at 106 before wires. I don't see us breaking 120 any time soon.

We were at 119.6 last night with still some wiring to run. Ugh!
I think we can squeeze out 2 or 3 pounds here and there. One year we actually did weight in at 119.9. No kidding. |

92 lbs, but that number keeps climbing.

Re: 120lbs. club
77.6lbs before electronics and one mechanism.
We've been 5-10+lbs under weight 3 years running. I hope to continue the trend, saves on hole-saw costs. |

Re: 120lbs. club
We might actually need the 40 lb lead bar we've got sitting in the back of the shop.

We are right at 120 ..... When we add the batteries and bumpers! We should be at around 95 - 100. Last year, we were at 119.9, and had to take a strip of velcro off during one weigh in! I'm happy we don't have to worry about going overweight this year!
