Legal Hard cases for driver station computer

I have had trouble finding a hard shell case with foam (pelican cases or similar) that fit into the rules defining the size of the driver station. Specifically finding a case that had interior width >9" but exterior width >= 12" as defined by the rules. The case needs to be at least two feet long and 3 inches deep.

Does anyone know of a case that would work for this?
Why does andymark sell ( and teams actually use) a case that is illegal according to the rules?

Thanks

Lew

Re: Legal Hard cases for driver station computer

Thanks for the suguestion. I have been unable to find one narrow enough. Most of them have an exterior width >12, or they are >48 inches which is way too long.
Any rifle cases you have found work?

Thanks,

Lew

This is the first one I found <48" long, <12" wide. Have a look.

Re: Legal Hard cases for driver station computer

If that gun case splits in the middle, it's going to be more than 12" wide when it's open.

We ran into the same problem last year, almost didn't get to play. Depends on how picky the refs are. Ended up making a custom case for this year.

Re: Legal Hard cases for driver station computer

We had to cut an 1/8" off. Last year at Buckeye.
