Smile Best full court shooter blockers

At all of our competitions, especially MSC, we've seen many outrageous blockers. Do you guys have any photos of any particularly effective and awesome looking blockers? Thanks.

Re: Best full court shooter blockers

Our rookies this year, 4716, made a pure defensive bot and blocks full court shooters. They were finalists at GTR west this year, and blocked many teams along the way!

I hate to be that guy, but our robot was pretty darned good at blocking at Razorback...if only our driver had been just a little bit better

team lasar, 3284 if im not mistaken. they have a very powerful drive train and completely shut us down in the finals at st louis regional. normally we'd put up 100 points a match.

Re: Best full court shooter blockers

We developed a blocker that
A) Allowed us to go under the pyramid
B) Was configurable to 60 or 84 inches
C) Didn't break or weigh a lot.

We used one of those orange poles that go into the ground to mark off where the street ends and elastic.

It started bent back into our bot and flipped out when the shooter was raised, Our philosophy behind it was that you don't need to stop the shots, you only need to throw off the trajectory. There is one match out the where we parked in front of team 503, Frog Force, and negated all Teleop points from them that match.

Re: Best full court shooter blockers

2054 has a good full court blocker. It extends to around 80", but retracts down so they can still fit under the pyramid. Their defense against cyclers is also very good.

teams dont realize how detrimental just a pole is to fcs. At crossroads, we were blocked by a robot that just used a pole. Prevented us from getting vision solutions, luckily when we arent getting solutions, we resort back to the last one.

Many teams are great at blocking, but their blocker is high, and so we are able to still get vision solutions, so if for a second we are able to shoot, we are locked on and ready.

Well our pole wasn't used for vision blocking, just normal blocking.

Re: Best full court shooter blockers

We blocked 2169 enough to win against them in qualifying matches. When we picked them for our alliance and prevented others from blocking them it was ridiculously effective to the tune of 200+ points...

Re: Best full court shooter blockers

I had an idea.
A 60'' robot attaches a white disk at the start of match to it's blocker, vertically aligned.
This will give them a blocking height of about 70'', while they are still able to cross half field. Is that correct?
Is there anything you guys think that makes this illegal?

Camdenton 3284 is an amazing blocker! Their net is just an amazing idea that works extremely well. Also they have a very strong drivetrain.

We were a very strong defensive presence as STL also with 3284 being the only robot their that we couldn't shut down.

Here's a video of us blocking 1706 a FCS

http://www.thebluealliance.com/match/2013mosl_qm75

We made that net before that match in 15 minutes for the sole purpose of blocking 1706 it worked like a charm! We normally could go underneath the pyramid

Here's a video of 3284 blocking 1706 FCS
