need help writing a press release

Engineer on team 'Bot'ler Associates' from Linganore High School, Frederick, MD sponsored by NASA/GFSC and Smiths Industries.



I need to make the announcement the we have received funding from our top sponsors. I do my best work when I copy from others. Can anyone supply (strictly as a guide) an example of one that has recently been used. I see that the 2000 competition has a few, but they are very generic and missing the beef.

Basically, each sponsor (independently of each other) is giving us cash and I would like to invite the press and capture the donation on film.

Well, all I can say is good luck. The press in that area (well Baltimore at least) isn't too responsive to showing off robotics. Just an FYI, I was on team 7, also sponsored by NASA/GSFC out of Baltimore. Press releases can work but it's almost just as easy to call up the local TV and Newspapers and talk to people that way. Otherwise there is a generic press release that was created by FIRST before, linked below. BTW, if you want any contact information for anyone on Team 7 (as they're probably your closest neighbors) please contact me.
