I wouldnt be surprised if that was his full name. His FIRST Profile says he got his B. S. at Louisiana Polytechnic University in 1966, which, since nothing has come out to say that we went to college at like 14 or something, would make one assume that he was 18-ish in 1962. With that, that means he was born in 1944 (or around there, I just subtracted 18 from 1962), a year before WWII ended, and just before the official start of the Baby Boom, though it is safe to say that he is a part of that generation. With that said, why was he named like that? I dont know, but 1944 and Louisiana might have something to do with it. -Jessica B, #237 |

More about Woodie (and Dean)...

Posted by Jessica Boucher on 1/28/2001 9:17 AM EST: Doing more research, I have gone onto THE baby name page, hosted by the Kabalarians, a philosophical group from Canada with interesting, different beliefs about balanced thinking. Though I dont really agree with what they think (or care too much), they have a darn good baby name database about which names mean what. If you cant find a name, you can submit it and in a week they will post it. I have used this site for many reports and other things as a different perspective. Anyway, the possibilities of what his name could be are the following: | Woodall | Woodard | Woodbine | Woodbury | Woodcock | Wooddy | Woodel | Wooden | Woodfield | Woodfin | Woodfine | Woodford | Woodforth | Woodfun | Woodgee | Woodhouse | Woodie | Woodland | Woodley | Woodlock | Woodly | Woodman | Woodney | Woodpecker | Woodpile | Woodridge | Woodring | Woodroe | Woodrouffe | Woodrow | Woodruff | Woodrum | Woods | Woodsen | Woodside | Woodson | Woodstock | Woodsy | Woodthorpe | Woodville | Woodward | Woodwind | Woodword | Woodworth | Woody | Woodyy | "Woodie" means: Your name of Woodie causes you to place considerable importance upon the material aspect of life. You have an eye for quality, desiring always the very best that money can buy, and you are not content with anything that is second best. You are quick to size up others, and this appraisal is based upon their physical appearance, their clothes, and whether they have achieved material success and the standards of quality that you have set in your own mind. You have a keen business sense, knowing a lucrative proposition when it is presented, and it is likely others would come to you for business counsel. You are a capable leader and organizer who should never be in a subordinate position. You have the ability to organize and see the whole picture where any prospective business venture is concerned. It is a name, however, which almost destroys the finer, sensitive qualities that should be expressed. It makes spontaneous, natural expression difficult. Any physical weaknesses relative to this name would show in the generative organs. On another note, "Dean" means: Your name of Dean gives you a clever mind, good business judgment, a sense of responsibility, and an appreciation of the finer things of life. You are serious-minded and not inclined to make light of things even in little ways, and in your younger years you had more mature interests than others your age. Home and family mean a great deal to you and it is natural that you should desire the security of a peaceful, settled home environment where you can enjoy the companionship of family and friends. Whatever you set out to accomplish you do your very best to complete in accordance with what you consider to be right. In the home you assume your responsibilities capably, having the self-confidence to form your own opinions and make your own decisions. Others can rely on you; once you have given your word you will do your utmost to fulfil a responsibility. However, there is a tendency to be a little too independent in your thinking and it is difficult for you to accept the help of others when you should. Due to your strong sense of responsibility, you could experience worry and mental turmoil through assuming more responsibility than you should. Friction could arise through others feeling that you were interfering with their rights and privileges, even though you are only trying to help. -Jessica B, #237 |

Couple of possibilties for inspiration: Woodrow Wilson was president from 1912-1920. I think if he was named after anyone famous, though, Woody Guthrie may be more likely. He wrote "This Land is Your Land" in 1940, and was writing lots of popluar war-related music in the early 40's. Or, maybe he had a grandmother named woodithiew. Eric Team 481 |
