I wouldnt be surprised if that was his full name. His FIRST Profile says he got his B. S. at Louisiana Polytechnic University in 1966, which, since nothing has come out to say that we went to college at like 14 or something, would make one assume that he was 18-ish in 1962. With that, that means he was born in 1944 (or around there, I just subtracted 18 from 1962), a year before WWII ended, and just before the official start of the Baby Boom, though it is safe to say that he is a part of that generation.

With that said, why was he named like that? I dont know, but 1944 and Louisiana might have something to do with it.

Doing more research, I have gone onto THE baby name page, hosted by the Kabalarians, a philosophical group from Canada with interesting, different beliefs about balanced thinking.

Though I dont really agree with what they think (or care too much), they have a darn good baby name database about which names mean what. If you cant find a name, you can submit it and in a week they will post it.

I have used this site for many reports and other things as a different perspective.

Anyway, the possibilities of what his name could be are the following:

I'd put my money on Woodrow as a full name, if Woodie is not it. Couple of possibilties for inspiration: Woodrow Wilson was president from 1912-1920. I think if he was named after anyone famous, though, Woody Guthrie may be more likely. He wrote "This Land is Your Land" in 1940, and was writing lots of popluar war-related music in the early 40's.

Or, maybe he had a grandmother named woodithiew.
