Autonomous Ball Loading

I have been going over the autonomous rules today and i have a question that I cannot find an answer to.

G5
For ROBOTS starting in the white ZONE, the TEAM may preload one (1) of their ALLIANCE’s BALLS such that the BALL is touching their ROBOT.

This seems to say that teams in the white zone don't have to have a ball touching their robot, but if this is true, where does the ball go? Is it removed from the field or placed in the white zone not touching any other robots?

Re: Autonomous Ball Loading

removed from the FIELD, placed into the queue to be loaded onto the PEDESTAL. I expect there will be a group of 4-6 BALLs per ALLIANCE that are at various locations around the ARENA.

Re: Autonomous Ball Loading

G5 does include a condition in which a ball can be in the white zone and not touching a robot:

For ROBOTS starting in their GOALIE ZONE the TEAM may decide if the BALL is: staged between the TRUSS and the ZONE LINE and not contacting an ALLIANCE partner, or removed from the FIELD for the MATCH.

Makes me wonder how many teams will go for trying to get two shots off during autonomous...
