How many pneumatic pistons can be carried on the chassis?
My team is planning on using pneumatic pistons to control a mechanism, but we were wondering if there was a limit to the amount of pistons that can be carried on the chassis.
any help is appreciated! thanks in advance! |

Your main and limiting factor to the number pistons is the amount of air that you have to work with and the speed that the compressor will be able to deliver the volume of air needed to do the work you are asking. If you plan on trying to cycle a 3 inch piston with 12 inch stroke, you will run out of air real quick. |

I can't take it anymore! They are cylinders not pistons,

Similar question here, the solenoid breakout can control 8 solenoids, is there a way to control more than 8? Secondly can we control two solenoids off of one output on the breakout board?

Re: How many pneumatic pistons can be carried on the chassis?
You can use a second breakout board. Or, you could use a relay controlled by the sidecar.

You may control solenoids the old fashioned way too.
You may use a spike and control through the digital side car. They will need to be 12 volt solenoids though... |

Why didn't I think of that?? Seems like the spike would be a cheap way out. Cheaper than a new module an breakout board.

A spike may also control multiple solenoids, if you are trying to use a few in parallel. R51.
