Unhappy Offset view ARGH [Autodesk]

Someone managed to set the default front view to be slightly offset from true Othographic, and it is messing everything else up! For some reason, the reset to defaults, reset front etc. options only reset to the current view.

Is there a way to lock a view on to an object or work plane?

Please see attached image for an example of the issue. Note that the view cube is set to a straight side, while the CAD is offset.

Click the window icon on the right, then click the face (I'm not sure how to describe the icon, but I think it looks like a window. See the last icon:) Right click the view cube, and choose set current view as front/top. Repeat for the other side.

That is useful, but I already was aware of that. The issue was that the parts themselves were actually offset from the XYZ coordinate planes. We manually re-constrained them to the origin to remdy the issue.
