Jaguar Questions
Hello, community. We (Team 2647) are pretty sure that our jaguar that we just bought from Vex arrived broken: though it is hooked up in the same way that all of the others are (wired, correct polarity, to higher-power ports on power distribution board; PWM to the PWM Out on the digital sidecar) it does not light up nor give a non-zero voltage reading on the output to the motors.
Two questions, quickly: -First, is there some kind of thing that must be done to somehow initialize a jaguar that we just failed to do, as in some special method of using it on the first time we run it? -Second, do any of you know what Vex's return policy is? We've been looking around but we've had some problems finding it. Thank you, and have a fine day! |

Re: Jaguar Questions
There is no out-of-box initialization that must be done for a PWM-controlled Jaguar. There is configuration for using them with CAN.
Back to the beginning now though, are you saying when you wire it to the PDB that the LED on the Jag does not light up at all? check your PDB (just for my sanity) make sure there is no red LED light showing on the PDB saying that either A) your breaker is tripped, or B) there is no fuse installed on the PDB power ports you plugged your Jag into. If the above don't solve your problem you are the proud owner of a broken Jaguar motor controller and you should contact VEX customer support. |
