Hi I am part of a have rookie FRC team that is wondering if we are eligible to use epoxy glue while building our robot. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Epoxy Glue?
Unless it is spefically prohibited, you can use epoxy. For example you cannot glue anything to your motor controllers. Rather or not it is a good idea is situationally dependent.

Also do not glue pneumatics parts directly, like cylinder or solenoid to robot frame. |

Re: Epoxy Glue?
It is definitely legal for parts construction, but not for COTS electronic components or pneumatic components.
There are a lot of small things involved in maximizing adhesive strength. Happy to explain what I know if you're interested, or feel free to shoot me a PM. I've done a bit of bonding, and mechanical testing bond strength, using epoxies. |
