Orange Light

My FRC team was wondering if there was any specification to where the orange light needed to be, we were wondering if it needed to be on some type of post, or it just had to be visible, or if there are no specification about the orange light at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You.

ROBOTS must use at least one (1) diagnostic ROBOT Signal Light (RSL) (P/N: 855PB-B12ME522).

Any RSL must be:

mounted on the ROBOT such that it is easily visible while standing three (3) ft in front of the ROBOT,
connected to the “RSL” supply terminals on a Digital Sidecar that is connected to an NI 9403 module in Slot 2 of the cRIO, and
wired for solid light operation, by placing a jumper between the “La” and “Lb” terminals on the light per Figure 4-13.

Manual has this to say:

So, in a practical sense, it mostly needs to be visible for field personnel in case your robot is having a connection/code/power issue, or similar.

Also, you can have more than one.

To add to those who already have posted the rule, the RSL flashes codes that help identify what state your robot is in and what might be an issue when on the field. Having it visible from the sides of the field helps us determine issues on your robot.
