Multiple Solenoid Modules
Hey so my team is using 5 double solenoids on our robot this year, and since there are only 8 pin spots in each module, we have added another module with a solenoid breakout. How do I account for this 2nd module in LabView?

Re: Multiple Solenoid Modules
Once someone tells you about labview, take a look at powering restrictions for 24v solenoids. That is, unless you're already using the 12v variety, powering a second 24v breakout module is complicated.

Re: Multiple Solenoid Modules
Assuming there is no issue with 24v coils, which I don't think is what you are asking about, it's quite simple.
In begin.vi, when you open a solenoid, you create a constant for the output Solenoid 1-8. There is a terminal right above that that lets you create a constant with the number of the card you want. It defaults to module 1, so often it is not wired. Just add the constant for the second card. This is the first time our team has ever used so many pneumatics components that we needed a second card as well. Last edited by Doc Wu : 15-02-2014 at 01:30. |

Re: Multiple Solenoid Modules
That makes sense! We are using all 12 volt double solenoids from andymark so we should be good in that regard- I think from reading your guys posts... Thanks!!!
