So our Axis M1011 camera may have died today (I'm confident that this is the case but I could be wrong) I supplied 5.0V and 1.5A to the camera the green power indicator led would turn on then approximately 5s later it would shutoff.
I tried 2 different power distribution boards and also a work bench power supply. Also tried having Ethernet cable from camera hooked up to my comp as well. So my questions are: 1) Am I wrong in my diagnosis? This would to be great to know that this was a f*** up on my end and not the camera. 2) Is it possible to use camera's other than the Axis camera's. 3) I found some Axis M1011 Camera's on eBay would it be against the rules to purchase from somewhere other than AndyMark.(A $200 M1013 from AndyMark is not in the budget) |

Re: Axis M1011 camera not working
Sounds dead if it won't stay on and you've tested the power feed wioth a multimeter to be sure.
You can purchase an Axis camera from any source. But using a different camera could make for much more programming complexity, because it won't be plug and play. You may have to design your own support libraries. |

Re: Axis M1011 camera not working
Well I was hoping I screwed up but it is good to hear that there are no restrictions on where a camera is purchased. I'm going to try to get another M1011 for cheap but worse comes to worse I can learn how to code some libraries for a camera or find a compatible camera. Thank you for your assistance.
