How is your opponent scored when you block their shot?
Let's say you block the opponent's shot who was about to score 50 points. The ball falls to the ground, they pick it up and score immediately. Are they awarded 10 or 50 in this scenario? In other words, does a block cancel out all of their earned points from assists on that ball?

Re: How is your opponent scored when you block their shot?
Assist points aren't lost with a failed goal, they're awarded when the cycle completes (no matter how many tries it takes to go through the goal)
Catch points do have to be from the same throw as the truss. |

So in that case they won't get their catch points?

Catch points are awarded immediately. How exactly do you expect to get 50 points in a cycle if it included a catch?

Re: How is your opponent scored when you block their shot?
They still get the catch points as long as they established possession of the catch before the shot was blocked. It would be impossible to have a ball blocked without shooting a ball, and it is impossible to shoot the ball without establishing possession as defined by the manual. All points on a cycle are retained on that cycle until the ball leaves the field through a goal or is declared dead on the field. Hope that clarifies things!

Re: How is your opponent scored when you block their shot?
If you keep them from ending that cycle (by a high or low goal being completed), before the 2.30 (2 Min. & 30 Second), buzzer sounds, you are correct though. (But that does not start the entire cycle over). A new cycle does not start until a goal is properly scored by the alliance.
