Buttons at Championship?

My team has had buttons made for our two regional events this season and we ran out REALLY quickly. In fact I think we ran out by the beginning of the Friday of Qualifications at both Palmetto and Orlando. Two fairly large regional events.

How many buttons does your team bring to Championship? We are trying to make sure we have enough for everyone that wants one, or close to it. Thanks for your help.

This is funny I have to ask this considering I've been to championship several times, but I've never had to manage things quite like this.

Re: Buttons at Championship?

400 FRC teams + FLL teams + FTC teams... 1,000+ buttons would a good start..

Do the math....FLL teams are up to 10 kids 4-8th grade (they're at the age like things like this). FLL is usually done Friday so they get to visit the FRC pits late Friday. That alone can eat close to 1,000, then you have the 400 FRC team from around the world who want the buttons to remember the event, each of these teams can bring 10-50 students (4,000 - 8,000), and then don't forget the FTC teams. I could see 1,000 button being gone by Thursday pit close, and 2,000 lasting through Friday. If you want to ensure you have enough to bring +/-50 home it is near impossible to calculate, but 2,000 - 3,000 should satisfy enough people to make it fun. We produce all of our own, and are now in the crunch to get them made. Personally, I'd like to see the 3,000+ already printed made into buttons and brought to Championship.

One last caveat: Not all the students will be able to make their rounds in the pits due to being a drive team, pit crew, scouting, etc., not all students want a button, so yes, 2,000 - 3,000 should get you through.

Remember to have fun and meet new people at Championships.

Re: Buttons at Championship?

I'm my team's Button Meister by default this year (the original Button Meister did not have the grades to stay on the team and had to be replaced). We have 3000 buttons for FLR and would like 3000 for the championships but are more likely to have a thousand plus whatever is left over from FLR. We have over 20 different button designs to give out this year.

Re: Buttons at Championship?

The last time my team was at Championships, we gave away all 950 of our buttons by early morning Saturday. 1000 would be the minimum.

Re: Buttons at Championship?

We do custom-ordered flashing blue buttons with our team logo on them. We typically order around 2000 of them at the beginning of the season and run out by Championships/ MSHSL Tournament.

If you know how many you've already made, 2000 minus that might give you a reasonable buffer. Plus they can get put in a box and pulled out next year as "vintage" buttons if you don't run out (but I've seen your buttons and I bet you'll run out because they're very cool).

Re: Buttons at Championship?

I think we've been bringing about 500 per regional, possibly a little more.
